Madi, Miguel, Hawk, and Aisha all began stretching in the corner of the Cobra Kai dojo. Kreese had told them they would be doing special training in the woods today, so they physically and mentally prepared themselves.
"What do you guys think Kreese is gonna make us do in the woods today?" Madi asked the group.
"I don't know, but it's probably not going to be easy," Miguel responded as the rest of the group chuckled.
Madi and Miguel both stood up and he pulled her into a kiss. They had gone on a date, set up by Rory and Aisha, to get Miguel's mind ultimately off Sam. It worked very well, considering they started dating.
Aisha giggled as they kissed while Hawk rolled his eyes. This was the first time Hawk was single since he had made his new transformation from his old, nerdy self. It felt strange and uncomfortable for him. He regretted what he did to Rory.
"Have any of you guys heard from Rory lately? She blocked me on everything," Hawk sighed.
Madi scoffed and rolled her eyes, "Why do you care? She betrayed us and fought with Miyagi-Do at the mall. I thought you were over that."
Hawk shrugged. He would never "be over" Rory. She was his first love, and he had actually loved her since they met in elementary school. You can't stop thinking of someone of such importance that quickly.
Kreese, who was completely eavesdropping on the conversation, cleared his throat to gain the attention of the class.
"Unfortunately, our champion Ms. Teller has decided to leave the dojo. So, that means that spot is up for grabs," Kreese explained.
Knowing they were top contenders, Miguel, Hawk, and Aisha all exchanged glances with each other. Besides Rory, they were the strongest and most experienced on the team. Although, Kreese wasn't aiming that message at them. They realized that when they saw his direct glance at Madi.
"Today, you will prove to me who can take that spot and become our next champion. Do you think you can do it, Ms. Ross?" Kreese asked.
Madi looked at him confusedly, but then smiled and nodded, "Yes, sensei!"
Aisha scoffed, knowing she was definitely next in line to be the girl champion. Even Hawk and Miguel knew that was the truth. She joined the exact same time as Rory and definitely had more skill than Madi, who joined about a week prior. Although, she did immediately beat Rory her first day there.
"In our training today, you will all be put to the test to see if you can take the spot," Kreese smirked at the students.
Suddenly, the door opened and Johnny came in. He was at an old friends funeral and left Kreese in charge while he was gone. As he saw the students in their regular clothes and not their gis, he gave them all confused looks.
"I come in late one day and you all think you can train without gis? Get them on! Class starts in 5 minutes!" Johnny exclaimed.
The students exchanged confused looks with each other, Johnny, and Kreese. As Johnny realized Kreese had created a completely new and extreme lesson, he called him over to talk. The students assumed their wilderness lesson would be cancelled, but with a bit of convincing, Johnny allowed Kreese to do his lesson.
The class hiked a few miles away to some strange place in the forest. They were terrified for what sort of torture they were about to endure. Johnny was rough with the cement lesson, but they knew Kreese was even worse.
"Class, this is a place called Coyote Creek. I taught lessons here back when your Sensei Lawrence was my student," Kreese explained.
He then proceeded to hand each of the students a red or black headband. They all looked at the headbands to see if they were on the same team. Madi and Miguel were on black while Hawk and Aisha were on red.
