The day after Valley Fest, there were tons of new kids that were trying out for Cobra Kai. This all reminded Rory, Hawk, Miguel, and Aisha of the first day they opened Cobra Kai. All of the nerds trying to learn karate from an unhinged man and three teenagers.

"Oh shit, Valley Fest turned out to be a great idea," Rory realized.

"Yeah, we haven't had this many new students since the day we opened the dojo," Aisha added.

Johnny walked into the room. All of the new students stood straight up and faced him in the front of the room. Rory began to see all of the different people that were trying to join. There were even some girls.

"Ok guys, fall in! Get into neat rows and lines!" Johnny shouted.

The recruits did as he said, a little confusedly though. Rory even spotted a grown man. Johnny confused him as a parent, but the man named Raymond explained how he was just trying to learn how to "kick some ass" with the tons of money he had to spare since his mom didn't charge him for rent.

"We'll consider this a trial run. I thought my last group of recruits was pathetic. But if you do what I tell you, you'll at least have a chance of becoming a fighter," Johnny explained.

To her dismay, Johnny grabbed Rory's arm and dragged her to the front of the class, "But to do that, you gotta fight. So, who wants to take on the champ?"

Rory looked at Johnny angrily and gave a look that was begging him to not do this. Although, he didn't care. Luckily, no one was volunteering to fight her. But, that didn't last long.

"I will!" Someone shouted.

Out walked a red-haired girl. She was a little bit shorter than Rory, but had some muscle. She was really pretty, pretty enough that Rory caught Miguel staring at her the same way he used to stare at Sam.

"Oh, you'll take her on?" Johnny asked, obviously trying to start something.

"Yeah, I saw your little demo at Valley Fest. You guys can put on a show, but can you actually fight?" The girl asked, looking Rory in the eyes.

Rory liked this girls confidence. They both saw this as a challenge. The only girl Rory ever fought was Aisha, and she wasn't this confident and cocky.

"All right, Ms. Teller, show Little Miss Hotshot what Cobra Kai is all about," Johnny said.

Rory smiled and walked up to the mat, facing the ginger girl. They began to fight. The girl wasn't bad at all. She was very good at defense, blocking every punch or kick Rory threw.

"Come on, Teller!" Johnny shouted.

As the girl went to block Rory's punch, Rory counter blocked and swept the girls legs. The girl fell to the ground, gasping for air.

"Good work, Rory!" Hawk shouted.

Rory bent down and stuck her hand out to the girl, "You're pretty good. I'm Rory Teller."

Suddenly, the girl grabbed Rory's hand and flipped her over. Rory couldn't believe it, she fell for this trick for the first time in her life.

"I'm Madeleine Ross, but you can call me Madi," The girl said.

Rory was in shock. She couldn't believe she was beaten by this new girl. Although, she was very excited to finally have some competition in the dojo. And it was a girl.

"I'm impressed, Ms. Ross. Beating the champ on your first day, you just earned yourself a spot in Cobra Kai," Johnny smiled.

Rory smiled widely at Madi. To her surprise, so did Miguel. Was he finally moving on from Sam? Rory sure did hope so.
