15 - "What's your deal with my brother?"

'Have you ever held a gun?' Lemon asked when they just reached the hallway. Yuina was slightly taken aback by his question and looked at him withdrawn. She didn't know how to react. It probably wouldn't be the best thing to act sarcastically, yet she found it to be the only way she could handle this situation without losing the bit of sanity she still had left. 'You think it's my hobby to run into psychopaths on a daily basis?' she countered.

She was slightly worried he would get mad, but she found him curling the corners of his mouth upwards more and more, until he was laughing out loud. Then he went serious again. 'Wanna try it?' he suggested whilst putting his hand into his pocket, taking out the pistol. She was wary by the fact of him holding the thing so closely next to her, but the thought of Tangerine calmed her down again. For whatever reason she trusted him, so she decided to partly trust his brother, too.

'Aren't you afraid I'm a spy and will take you out with it?' she asked whilst looking mysteriously at him to strengthen her words. 'I'm a hired assassin,' he replied, 'being afraid is just not in my dictionary.' She couldn't believe that for a hundred percent; she knew the two brothers were worried and slightly scared for what was to come, but she didn't say anything about it.

Weirdly enough she was curious about how it would feel if she would hold a gun. Would she feel more powerful, or would she feel scared? Would she feel tough? Gross? She didn't know, and part of her wanted to find out, but she wouldn't dare agree with his proposition.

'We need to find that case,' she said, to which Lemon looked at her curiously. He saw she was appealed to holding the gun, but she declined. What kind of person was she? Would she be an Emily; beautiful, a bit bossy and think she knows best, but always helpful? Would she be an Ashima; small but beautifully crafted, showing no fear, feisty and helpful? Would she be a Madge; seeming like she misses something on the surface, but having a strong personality and surprising strength, coming to push when someone needed a shove? Well, whoever she was, there was something going on with her and his brother, the one person he always wanted to protect.

'What's your deal with my brother?' Lemon asked whilst looking straight at Yuina. She felt a bit off guard by his question, though she could've seen it coming. Of course she was being dragged into this mission against Lemon's will, and only because she knew his brother. Well, she didn't exactly know him, but they had met once before and miraculously once again today. She didn't understand what was happening here herself; of course he was being suspicious about her.

'I don't know,' she replied honestly, to which Lemon rolled his eyes. 'I sincerely don't know. I don't like to be around people, because they always let you down. They always expect you to behave a certain way, their way, and look at you funny when you don't obey. So I honestly don't know, but... something happened.'

She felt strange talking about it to someone. Up until this point she only thought about it herself. She did give Tangerine little pieces of how she felt about him, but that wasn't the same as speaking about it out loud to someone else.

'I know he didn't stand up against those men that bothered me for me, but he did suggest I could sit with him afterwards so that I wouldn't be bothered again. We talked a bit and I don't know, I feel strangely comfortable around him, safe even.'

'Safe,' Lemon repeated whilst blurting out a short, sarcastic laugh. 'You feel safe with someone who kills people?' Yuina shrugged. 'I already told you I'm not normal, didn't I?' It was such a strange occurrence that it surely couldn't all just be a coincidence, still Lemon couldn't help but believe her words. His brother also couldn't explain why he cared for her, but it was clear he did, just like she clearly cared about him. That's why she shrugged it all off and said: 'Well, let's just keep looking for that case.' So they did. They went on their way searching for it.
