Chapter 17

It was now the night of the prawn. I wasn't there when Seabrook power blew up but dad told me it was pretty bad. I felt really bad for the werewolves though. I was sitting on my bed looking at my red silk dress hanging from my cupboard door when Addison knocked. "You're not ready yet?" She asked, "What's the point?" I reply blankly "Harper, I'm really sorry about the other night. I never should've said those things to you, I was wrong and I hate fighting with you," she says as she sits next to me "you do deserve to go to prawn, and I know it's not your fault, I'm not a werewolf so it doesn't matter anymore" "Addison-" "please forgive me Harper, your my sister, and I miss you" I turn to face her and I can see it in her eyes that she's being sincere, "It's okay, you were mad, I get it. I don't know if I want to go to prawn without Zed though.." "I know, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and you'll have me" "Alright, let me get ready and I'll be down soon".

Addison and I were talking when someone shouted to look at the door. I turned around to see the werewolves walking in and I looked at my sister confused. "I knew you two would be together," she says "what?" I ask and she nudges me to look back at the door and there he stands. "Hi," I say walking up to him "Hi", "how are you here?" I ask confused, "We kinda crashed the party, rules are meant to be broken." he shrugs and I laugh "Harp, are you okay? Last time I saw you-" "yeah, I'm okay, I spoke to Addison and everything's back to normal" "that's good".

Slow music started playing and Zed held his hand out to me "may I have this dance?" "Of course," I say, placing my hand in his.

"Right from the start you caught my eye, and something inside me came to life" "oh I had a feeling, if you got to know" "someday, this could be ordinary" "you and me side by side, out in the broad daylight" "if they laugh we'll say, we're gonna be someday".

The music stops and we slowly start leaning closer but the moment gets interrupted when the ground starts shaking, "this way" he says taking my hand and leading me somewhere safer. As everyone runs down a hall, the ground cracks open and we stop suddenly. "The energy from the moonstone must've created a faultline, if we follow this crack it may lead us to the moonstone" Zed explains "so it's only buried and not destroyed" I exclaim, all the wolves quickly run into the hole to find the stone, "we've gotta help them," I say and the rest of us follow. We're all lifting the moonstone to carry it back to the surface when the tunnel collapses leaving us trapped. "Zed your Z-band's still broken, take it off, you can lift the slab," Eliza tells him "I'm not ready, what if I can't control it" I put my hand on his shoulder "you can do this Zed". He takes his Z-band off and lifts the slab so that we can all get out but once we're all through it closes behind us and I can't see him anywhere.

"Zed!". Nothing. All of a sudden there's a light from behind the fog and he walks out back to normal, I don't waste a second running towards him and giving him a hug. "Are you okay?" "Yeah," he replies putting his arm around me. Eliza then snaps a photo of us, "we're getting our first zombie on the prawn wall of fame" she smiles. Everyone then heads back to the surface, and we all have a great prawn night.
