You stumbled out of your "room" with a yawn and lazily walked your way to the bathroom, your toothbrush in hand and eyes threatening to close shut. Last night, you and the turtle brothers decided to celebrate you and Elena moving in by eating enough junk food to put you in a food coma for months. Well, all of you except Leo. He was going on about how his body was a temple or something along those lines that you were too tired to remember in this exact moment. You shut the bathroom door slowly, trying to be considerate of the others who were most likely still asleep. You didn't know why you were up at this ungodly hour of 7 a.m, you went to bed pretty late. But somehow you couldn't sleep in today, no matter how many times you tried to force yourself to. Which was pretty annoying considering the fact that you were still sleepy.
Turning on the faucet, you rinsed your toothbrush under the running water and lathered toothpaste on it. You hummed a tune as you thoroughly brushed your teeth, nodding your head along in attempt to keep your eyes from closing. Once you were done, you spit into the sink and washed your face with cold water. Your skin ached from the coolness and your eyes shot open, now you were really awake.
You made your way back to your "room" and shut the door softly behind you. You took in the plain concrete walls and floor and sighed at the sight. This was going to be your room for who knows how long, yet it didn't feel like it. Maybe it was the fact that you still felt like an inconvenience, but you were having a hard time calling this room your own.
You didn't have this issue when you lived on your own.
Hell, you didn't have this problem when you were living with Claire. You knew you were only staying there temporarily so you didn't have to stress about moving in.
But you didn't know if this was just gonna be a temporary stay. If you were being honest, you didn't want this to be just a temporary stay.
It had been less than a day of you living there and you were already attached to this less than ideal home and the chaotic mutants living in it. You knew deep down that they managed to crawl their way passed your built up walls and slowly mend a whole in your heart that was caused by your own broken family. And it terrified you.
Your furrowed brows lifted as you heard rummaging come from outside the room you were standing in. Confused, you walked out of the bedroom and tiptoed into the living area, recognizing the sound was coming from the kitchen. You followed the noise, leading to a turtle wearing an orange mask facing away from you.
"Hey Mikey."
"Ah! Hey dudette! How was your first night in la casa de- uh, turtle?" You chuckled quietly to yourself.
"It was fine. I'm still recovering from all that garbage we ate last night." You pulled out a stool and took a seat, crossing your arms over the table.
"Well, I would offer to make you some coffee to help, but I'm not allowed to touch Donnie's coffee machine anymore." He laughed nervously as he continued to face away from you, making lots of noise with pots and pans.
"Heh, that's alright. So, what're you making?"
"Oh, only the best creation to ever exist! Besides pizza of course."
"Really? What is it?" He turned around suddenly, facing you with a gleam in his eyes and making enthusiastic jazz hands.
"Breakfast pizza!"
"Yup, should've seen that one coming." You spoke quietly as you sighed through your nose. You couldn't believe you were saying this, but you were getting sick and tired of pizza. "Well, do you need any help?"
"Nope, I got it covered. Thanks though y/n!"
"Are you sure? But we could get it done a lot fas-"
"Ah ah ah! No buts! What kind of host would I be if I let the guest cook? Just sit back, relax, and watch the master do his thing."
