chapter 15- oh who is she?

"Hey Leo, miss me?"

A deep feminine voice surprised you as Leo immediately tensed and stood up. He turned to face the woman, blocking her from your view.

"K-karai? What are you doing back?" His tone was defensive and hostile yet... nervous. Because his shell was facing you, you completely missed the slight redness on his cheeks caused from the mysterious girl.

"Shredder got the weapon shipments earlier than expected. Since I was over seeing the transaction in Japan to make that happen, I got to come back earlier as well." She turned her head at the mutant with a coy smile. "What, not happy to see me?"

"Happy isn't exactly the word I would use." This caused Karai to chuckle before remembering another person was there as well, you.

"Who's your friend?" As she attempted to peak over the mutant, he quickly shuffled to block you from her sights.

This peaked the girls interest.

"Protective are we?" She spoke with a grin. He gave her a stern glare, only making her smile widen.

Earning no response from the turtle, she leaped over him with ease and landed effortlessly in front of you.

The Japanese girl had short, black hair with bleached blonde at the root of her scalp towards the back. She wore bold makeup that suited her features very well, wearing a bright red around her eyes and on her lips. She was tall and lean, wearing kunoichi armor that hugged her tightly.

'Holy shit she's gorgeous.' Your eyes widened as you continued to look up at her from the floor. She practically oozed confidence from her pores.

As the two of you continued your little staring contest, Karai gave a malicious grin.

"Well, aren't you a pretty little thing." The kunoichi flirted with a wink before turning towards Leonardo. "I can see why you keep her around."

Before he could utter a response, she quickly unsheathed her wakizashi from her side, gesturing it towards your direction.

"To bad I'm gonna need to give her a bit of a makeover. You won't mind right Leo?"

Before you knew it, Leo had his katana unsheathed and in hand as well.

"I'm really not in the mood Karai."

"Hm, that's too bad," she quickly swung her sword at him, making an x when she came in contact with his katana, "cause I am."

And soon began their dance of death, the sound of swords clanging together and the two of their grunts substituting the music.

They moved together in sync. They were playing a very dangerous game.

Either or could have killed the other with the intensity of their violent strikes, but neither of them even ended up with a scratch.

On the contrary, the two of them played off the others immense battle skill.

"Oh come on Leo, you can't tell me you haven't missed this. I'm sure your brothers haven't been much competition as of late." Karai, even when slightly out of breath, spoke cockily.

And to your surprise, the mutant boy actually laughed a little with a smile.

This small yet meaningful action caused a pang in your chest.

You didn't realize it before, but the nervousness, that smitten smile he wore on his face, and even during a fight he held admiration in his eyes.

Oh, you knew that look all to well.
