my heart only wants you
__________
When Hajime and you drove home - it was silent. Only the hum of the heater was heard throughout the car. You knew Hajime was very upset due to the lack of music playing. You felt unnaturally uncomfortable; due to the silence. Hajime would often speak at least about something that happened in his day, and if not, the music would fill the void.
You shifted uncomfortably in the leather seat. The streetlights flashed down into the dimly lit car. The sun had already fully set a while ago since Hajime took his time sitting in the parking lot. He was on a call with Hanamaki talking about what happened with Kumini and his car.
You weren't allowed to speak the whole time while he was on call. Even though it was connected to a Bluetooth speaker. That made you frustrated; the whole ride home you didn't glance at your brother.
Hajime opened the door to the house from the garage after he pulled out his bags from the back of the car. The garage was chilly due to it being night. It seemed to be taking longer for summer to get going. Hajime was in the house - leaving you alone. You rubbed your bookbag's arm strands. The rough material made you realize what was to come.
The door to the house was a bit crooked. When Hajime was younger, your mother use to chase him around the house until he ran smack into the door. Your father promised to fix it when he had the chance, but the chance never came. You remember watching Hajime smack face first into it; how his eyes got all blood-shot red and watery. He didn't cry, you remembered that.
Your mother was coddling him - hugging his small frame into her larger one. Whispering sweet words into his ears. He stood there for a bit, before hugging her back in a tight grip. That was your brother. He never cried - you couldn't remember a time he did.
You closed the door and walked into the messy kitchen. Your father didn't put away any of his plates when he made breakfast this morning. Usually, you would be upset, since one of your chores was to clean up the kitchen. You had more important things to worry about.
Finally reaching the living room, where Hajime was sitting on the brown couch. He was typing away on his phone. You just stood there in the middle of the room. He finally looked up after a few moments.
"Y/n, why did you decide to skip school? Especially with some boy you barely knew? Even after being in trouble for hanging out with Oikawa." Hajime started, his voice was calm. It was unnatural to you since you see him usually yelling at his teammates. He was naturally a loud person.
You were frustrated. You knew who Kumini was, except for the girlfriend he had. You should have never gotten in trouble for hanging out with your brother's best friend. The only reasonable reason would have been skipping school. You could tell Hajime was more focused on the boy aspect of it.
"You don't understand." You whispered out. Hajime didn't; you didn't want to tell him. He wouldn't understand. Your friends are fake due to your relationship with Hajime, allowing you to be beside Oikawa more than the average female. The whole school's girl population doesn't exactly favor you. Then you find out, that Kumini had a secret girlfriend. He made you a side chick. Someone that would be disposable to him; if the girlfriend never found out, you would have kept being in that false idea.
Hajime straightened out his sitting position. He rose himself forward but still was on the couch. "I don't think you understand. You don't understand a single thing. You never have.' Hajime's voice began to rise. You would have been worried, but your father was currently on his night shift for his job.
"I just didn't want to be at school." You yelled out - surprised at your voice. You officially broke the yelling barrier, that both parties recognized in the beginning. Now, it was free range for however loud you wanted your voice to be.
