I'm so afraid of losing something I love.
________

You woke up to the sound of your alarm ringing out in your room. It was seven in the morning and the sun was already up. Morning practices were later due to school not being in session until the end of the week. You rolled over and shut the alarm off, and started at your ceiling.

You didn't want to go. Not that you didn't want to do your job, but the fact your body was still tired. Your mind was tired as well. Finally, getting out of your bed, you began to go around your room finding the items you needed to get ready with. You couldn't find the tracksuit that you needed to wear.

It must be in the laundry room. You made your way downstairs, and walked into the kitchen, seeing Hajime there going through the fridge. You were about to continue walking through before his voice stopped you.

"Coach said that you didn't need to come in today." The olive green eye boy said as he pulled out eggs from the fridge. He was placing them onto a napkin, as he grabbed a pan from the cabinet below the stove. "Did you not see the text message last night?"

"What, no. Why doesn't he want me there?" You asked, and stopped yourself from walking. Did you mess up your position? Were you doing something wrong? The coaches seemed to like you, so why didn't the head coach want you there?

"He wants you to research Shirtatoziawa before the match. Just take notes and watch their matches basically." He replied back over his shoulder and then started cracking the eggs on the now-heated pan. The sound of sizzling entered the kitchen.

You just responded with an okay and made your way back upstairs. You wished you checked your messages before going off to bed so that you could sleep more. You could get more now, but it sucked waking up for no reason at all.

_____

It was now ten in the morning, and you were sitting in your living room watching Shirtoizawa's matches on your TV. You had a notebook out and it was pages filled with different types of notes. They were a very good team, and you could tell they would be a struggle to win against. They also relied heavily on their ace. If your team could somehow stop him, it would break their whole team's dynamic.

Your dad was currently home as well, but he was in his bedroom sleeping away. He would have the night shift tonight, and they were adding up a lot. He wasn't really ever home, and when he was, he was sleeping.

Hajime's practices had finished a while ago, but he was out with his friends. He texted you he wouldn't be home until after the night practice was finished. You didn't have to go to that either, but tomorrow, you were expected to show up with your notes ended.

Stretching your arms above your head, you flipped the channel to the news. You needed background noise to organize the notes now. The news was talking about Kunimi's death. It wasn't surprising at all. The news reporter was talking about the volleyball team and even showed a clip of your team getting on the buses. The fact they were showing that clip made it seem like your team didn't care about his death. You felt sick at the media because they were milking the situation but not bringing awareness to it.

A lot of people at school were doing the same thing. Trying to profit off of the boy's death. It was post after post about how they knew the boy, and that they needed comfort. They didn't know him. It was attention-seeking behavior. One story actually made you think a little. It was Nashiru's. She posted on her public Snapchat story regarding Kunimi's death. It was talking about awareness for family members who deal with their family member being died. She also posted a GoFundMe link to help Kunimi's sister. It was nice, something you didn't know she was capable of doing.
