Walking through the hallways of Lake Wood High I feel more conscious than ever, now that I know why people were giving me weird and disgusted looks. At the same time I couldn't do anything about it, even if I try to tell people that I never cheated on Bryce they would believe their leader instead of me. Besides, the "cheating" accusations are part of my plan to ruin Bryce, so karma can bite his ass.
"Hey." I greet walking to Andy's locker as she applies on some lip-gloss.
"Hey." She greets back coldly.
I stare at her. "There something wrong?" I ask.
She keeps her lip-gloss and closes her locker door. "You cheated on Bryce?"
I roll my eyes. "No I didn't."
She laughed. "Then why does it say here on the school paper?" She asks getting the paper from her bag.
My eyes widen as I grab the school paper and flip through the pages full of lies. "Andy come on. Who are you going to believe?" I ask. "Stephanie Chung, or me?"
She sighs. "Why won't you say something then?"
I tell her about my encounter with Stephanie Chung in the parking lot and how I confronted Bryce. I add my plan to get revenge on Bryce with the help of my new friend Adam Flores.
"Who's that?" She asks with her eyebrows scrunched up.
I shrug. "No one knows, which is a good thing because they don't know who he is yet. Although I'm pretty sure the news about him will be the first thing people talk about tomorrow morning." I say. "Which is why I need to give him a huge makeover after school, and I wouldn't be able to do it if you're not with me. Seriously, this guy needs all the help he can get."
"Sorry Katie. I can't after school." She says. "I have cello practice."
I roll my eyes. "Can't you skip that for at least one day?"
"My recital is two days from now and I still have one more piece to memorize." She explains. I pout at her and she rolls her eyes. "I can do you one thing though. Let me see him and I can tell you what to fix.".
----------
"Adam, this is Andy. Andy this is Adam." I say facing the two to each other.
Andy's eyes widen as she makes an UH sound.
Adam rolls his eyes. "I already have you criticizing me, I don't want another." He tells me before walking away.
I pull his arm and make him face Andy. "The truth hurts buddy but that's the only way this can work."
Andy takes a deep breath before walking around him. "Good luck Katie, can't wait to see what you do with this one." She says looking down at his beat up crock shoes.
"I'm standing right here." He says.
Andy and I ignore him as she tells me the main points that need fixing.
"The crocks definitely need to go, and the glasses." She says. "His hair needs work, maybe a trim. Also his nose hair too." Adam's eyes widen as he looks at the window to check his reflection. "You can do the clothes, you're definitely good at that. Then fix all the little bugs about him and I think he'll be good to go."
I nod slowly taking in what Andy says as we both look at Adam as if he were some science experiment.
The bell rings and Adam quickly walks away not wanting to be seen with Andy and I. I bid her goodbye and walk to my first class.
