For the first time in forever, I couldn't wait to go to school. One of the reasons being to see everyone's reaction to Adam especially Bryce, and to see if the lie I told Ashley yesterday spread.
I text Adam as I get out of my car telling him to wear the clothes I bought him yesterday and to ditch the crocs.
You got me boat shoes? Seriously?
I ignore his text as I text him some more.
When you walk through the hallways seem confident and cool. Don't look at anyone except straight ahead, and when you see me, go to me and give me a kiss on the cheek. People think we're a thing, so let's give it to them. Shoot, I'm scared. We didn't practice this yesterday. I'm sure the news about you spread. You're going to be what everyone's talking about. Are you sure you're ready?
-
Yea, I practiced in front of the mirror last night.
-
Okay. That makes me even more nervous.
I text him before I throw my phone into my bag. I enter through the double doors before walking towards my locker. I hear numerous whispers coming from everyone as I try to avoid eye contact with them.
"I heard she cheated on Bryce Anderson with Adam Flores."
"Who the hell is he?"
"Do you think Adam Flores is in college? Maybe that's why no one knows him?"
"I heard Adam Flores is really sweet which is why she cheated on Bryce Anderson."
"There's a rumour spreading around that Adam Flores stole Bryce Anderson away from her."
I try ignoring all of them. Adam's definitely not going to be used to this much attention.
As I decode my locker I feel someone grab my arm before forcefully making me face them.
"Oh. It's you." I say boredly as I stare up at Bryce who seems to be really pissed off. I shake his hand away from my arm before asking what he wants.
"Why did you tell everyone that I never gave you attention in our relationship which is why you cheated on me?" He asked angrily pressing me up against the locker.
Everyone's chatting died down as they all looked at Bryce and I anticipating for some drama to erupt.
I look up at him and roll my eyes before pulling him into the girls restroom which was right beside my locker.
"It's only fair." I say to Bryce as I lock the restroom door to make sure nobody walks in on us. "You told everyone I cheated on you so don't get mad at me for spreading one huge lie like you did. You're being so hypocritical."
"Seriously Katie?" He asked with his eyebrow raised. "You are being so immature. Life isn't fair. Deal with it."
"No, unless you're going to deal with it first." I say stubbornly. "I told everyone you were a horrible boyfriend and they believed me. Deal with it."
"Whatever." He murmured before twisting the doorknob open. "When they see who you cheated on with me, you're going to regret this."
We walk out of the restroom and everyone is quiet as they all look towards the entrance door.
"What the hell's going on?" Bryce asks as he pushes through everyone trying to see what they're all staring at.
I get a peek at what they're looking at and they're all staring at Adam who looks great. He's wearing the denim jacket I bought him yesterday with a white shirt underneath it. His whole outfit looks great and the boat shoes just tie them all together. He walks through the hallway with one back strap hanging on his shoulder as he does what I told him to. Don't look at anyone despite them all looking at you.
