Brotherly Movie Night

~Scar POV~

"So you think you're in love, but you're not sure?" Cub asked, trying to get confirmation of what I just told him about the past few days, while he attempts to organize his chests.

"Yes! How do I tell if I'm in love or not?" I questioned, sitting on the ground next to him, my back against one of his chests.

"Uhm, answer these questions truthfully and without thinking." He responded sitting in front of me. I nodded slightly to give him the go ahead.

"Who are your best friends?"
"You, Grian, Mumbo."
"Do you feel bubbly inside when talking to any of us?"
"Er, yeah."
"Is that person Grian?
"Yes?"
"Do you want to be with him 24/7?"
"Of course?"
"Do you miss him even though you've been apart for a few moments?"
"Yeah.."
"Scar, do you love Grian?"
"I think so..."
"Would you date Grian?"
"Yeah I guess.."
"Would you date Grian if he was a girl?"
"I suppose not..?"
"Would you do anything to make sure he's always happy?"
"Of course!"
"If Grian chose to do something like, move away, stop doing things he used to, or overall changing anything, would you still love him?"
"Yeah?"

"Scar, I know what's wrong." Cub said grinning, I looked at him confused. "You're in love with Grian you idiot! You're gay for him!" He exclaimed punching my arm jokingly, making me flush pink.

"No I- am I really in love with Grian..?" I questioned leaning my head back, earning a chuckle from Cub.

"Obviously! On the count you stare at Grian every chance you get, you want to be around him 24/7, you literally cuddled with him, twice! Also the facts you're as red a cherry because I'm telling you, and you said you would date him as long as he was himself and happy!" He replied putting his hand on my shoulder making me look at him.

He wasn't wrong, about any of it, but it was kind of embarrassing he had to tell me because I couldn't figure it out. I looked at the ground in between us rethinking every moment with Grian and how I favored each one. As long as Grian is Grian, I'll love him. My mind slowly slipped away from my surroundings and into deep thoughts, mainly about what this could mean between me and Grian, and if he would like me back and if not what would that mean for us? Cub seemed to notice my loss of concentration and brought me in for a quick reassuring hug snapping me back to reality.

"Listen, what if I set you two up on a date? Then you wouldn't have to go through a gay panic if you asked him out! And if you're scared of rejection I'll check with Mumbo and do background check to see if Grian loves you back!" He said still smirking.

"Would you actually do that for me..?" I asked looking up slightly to see his reassuring face as he nodded.

"Of course I would! You're like a little brother to me, Scar! I'd love to help! Now gimme one more hug." He responded opening his arms waiting for my embrace, causing me to giggle slightly then hug him.

"Thank you Cub, thank you so much, for everything." I said trying my best to contain my happiness. "But I am still a bit nervous..."

"No need to thank me. And it's okay to be nervous! Iskall was when he asked Mumbo out and look how that turned out!" Cub replied enthusiastically with a smile.

I began thinking about how last season Iskall confessed to Mumbo and how well it turned out for them, but in that case it was obvious they liked each other. And in mine and Grian's case, it's difficult to notice. Grian probably doesn't even like me like I do him, he probably doesn't even like men! This is stupid, I'm stupid. Cub seem to notice me getting lost in thought again and his smile faded slightly as he shook his head.

"Scar, I know you're still doubting everything and it's really depressing to watch you do so. How about we go watch a movie to calm your nerves? You can pick which one we watch and you can pick the snacks!" He said trying to brighten the mood, which I appreciated and gave a small smile and a nod.

"Can we watch The Jungle Cruise?" I asked looking at him with a sad hopeful look that a 4 year old would give their mom when they told them no.

"Have we seen that movie twenty times-" I gave him slight puppy dog eyes and he sighed followed by a laugh. "Fine! You win! Stop looking at me like that!"

I joined in on the laughter for a bit but it died down after two minutes.

"You really are like my younger brother." Cub joked ruffling my hair a bit, which turned into us having another laughing fit before it subsided again and Cub checked his communicator. "It's almost seven, ready for a movie night?"

I nodded with a smile in response and we both got up and walked into his house, I walked into the kitchen for snacks and he went to set up the movie. Cub is a really good friend, I don't know what I did to deserve him.

"How many pillows and blankets do you think we need?" Cub half shouted from the living room causing me to snap out of my thoughts.

"Uh, all of them!" I replied with a small giggle as I heard Cub also laugh a bit.

I grabbed a bag of Cheetos, a pack of Hershey's, and two bottles of Dr Pepper. I stuffed everything in my arms and made my way to the living room where Cub set up a bunch of Pillows and blankets around the couch which he was sitting on searching Disney+ for the movie. I set everything on his coffee table and sat on the opposite side of his couch and buried myself in different verities of blankets and pillows, earning a chuckle from Cub as he started the movie.

I know this isn't what you guys wanted

So give me time! Please! Anyway, please
forgive me for taking forever on this,
my sister's 18th birthday hit, then my
Dad got his bulls in two rodeos back-to-back
so that also got me distracted, and school
didn't help. So I'll try to get a schedule for
once a month or sooner!
