Tuesday

A few days had passed since Chrissy last talked to Eddie. Her nightmares came back despite her smoking before she slept. It was very disappointing. Her anxiety was through the roof when she woke up. Partly because of the nightmares, and partly because she was worried Eddie was mad at her for what happened Saturday. It's all she'd been able to think about since she got caught talking to him.

She showered and got dressed for the day, wearing a pink shirt and shirt. She put her hair up in a simple pony tail and then went down to wait on Jason to pick her up for school. Like normal she skipped breakfast.

She walked outside and stood in the curb, after only a minute or two he pulled up and Chrissy got in. The ride to school was silent, just music playing from the radio to break the silence.

The rest of the day was fine until last period. Chrissy got to class and sat down. A few minutes later Eddie walked in with one of his friends. He and Chrissy locked eyes, she smiled at him and he looked away. She just looked down at the desk. That all but confirmed her fear that he was mad at her. She nearly broke down in class but a lifetime of practice allowed her to hold back the tears.

After school Chrissy sat in her room, trying to work on homework. But the guilt was eating her alive. So, she decided that even if Eddie hated her now, she had to apologize.

She picked up her phone and dialed Eddie's number.

"Hello?" Chrissy wasn't sure who she was talking to, but she assumed it was his uncle.

"Um..hi, I was wondering if Eddie is around?"

"Sorry who's calling?"

"Oh, my name is Chrissy, I'm a...friend of Eddie's"

"Oh okay, well he isn't in right now, I'm not sure when he'll be back. Can I take a message?"

"No that's alright, thank you"

"No problem"

Chrissy hung up the phone. As soon as she did she remembered that it was Tuesday. "Of course he isn't home, he's playing at the hideout"

Another thought popped into her head. She picked up the phone again and called Sam.

"Hello?"

"Sam, it's me"

"Oh hey whats up?"

"Listen, I need you to cover for me again."

"No problem, another visit to 'just friend' Eddie Munson?"

"Yeah something like that. I'll come over later but if I don't, you know where I'll be"

"Yeah yeah, call me either way. Have funnn" Sam hung up the phone.

Chrissy walked downstairs and found her mom sitting on the couch watching TV. "Hey mom, I'm gonna go stay at Sam's house, okay? She'll take us to school in the morning." Her mom just nodded. "Okay sweetheart, have fun" Chrissy stepped out the door and began walking to the hideout.

When Chrissy walked in Eddie's band was already performing. She sat near the back of the bar to listen. Thankfully no on asked her for an ID, not that she planned to drink.

She sat back and watched and listened to Eddie play. He was, magical. The way he moved, the way his fingers strummed the the guitar, his intensity. She couldn't help but smile while she watched. The music was also really good. Metal wasn't usually her vibe but she was enjoying herself now.
