Ch. 28 Who are your parents?

Louis stared at the envelope with mixed emotions, feeling nervous to read what his son, Anthony Tremaine, had written for him to read.

Liam noticed Louis looking nervous and decided to give him space so that he could read Anthony's letter. He stands up, causing the older male to look at him.

" I will give you space to read Anthony's letter." Liam softly speaks, spotting Paulette walking towards their table with a food tray in her grasp.

" I will read it later," Louis reassured while putting the envelope away in his pant pocket. " How about you sit down and eat dinner with me?" He asked. " I want to get to know my son's best friend." He softly smiled.

Liam blushed, looking embarrassed when he heard Louis wanted to get to know him. " Okay." He nodded and sat down, seeing Paulette putting their food in front of them.

" Thank you, Aunt Paulette." Liam warmly smiled, causing Paulette to gush and pinch his cheeks, making the young male blush. He watched his Aunt walk away to tend to the other customers.

" Who are your parents?" Louis asked while grabbing a fork and beginning to eat his dinner.

" My parents are Gaston and Claudette," Liam responded while grabbing a fork and knife and beginning to eat his dinner.

Louis looked at Liam in disbelief, which the young male noticed and frowned.

" Yeah. I know. I know. Gaston is the enemy of the King and Queen of Auradon." Liam mumbled while looking at his Raspberry Tea.

" Oh! I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." Louis shakes his head. " It just-" He lightly bites his name. "-your father has the same name as my older brother." He lifts his head to stare at the ceiling.

Liam's blue eyes blinked, and he raised an eyebrow when he heard that Louis' older brother shares the same name as his father.

" What can you tell me about your older brother?" Liam asked, looking curious.

" Well. Gaston left our Village to serve in a War when I was in my teens. Our parents weren't pleased with the idea. They wanted him to take over the bakery, but my older brother has always wanted to explore the world." Louis explained.

Liam looked at Louis with mixed emotions. ' Could Louis' older brother be my father?' He internally asked.

" Before Gaston left for Paris, I met up with him and gave him a basket filled with fresh loaves of bread and cheese so that it could satisfy his hunger. He assured me he would return from War, but he never did. So, my family and I figured he got killed." Louis frowned.

' No way!' Liam's blue eyes widen, and he grabs his wallet out of his backpack. ' They have to be the same person. I do have Dad's picture. Maybe Louis would recognize him.' He internally speaks.

" Can I show you something?" Liam asked.

Louis nodded.

Liam opens his wallet, showing a picture of him when he was a baby in his father's embrace that his mother took.

" That's my father, Gaston." Liam points to Gaston in the picture while showing it to Louis.

Louis' blue eyes intently stared at Gaston in the picture. He noticed that the other male resembled their father but had their mother's blue eyes similar to his.

" No way." Louis mouths out and lifts his head to stare at Liam with mixed emotions. " You are my nephew!" He shouts, looking surprised and happy to meet his relative at Auradon.

" I didn't know father had a younger brother." Liam looked at Louis in disbelief. " Then again, I figured that the massive fall caused my Dad to lose his memories." He murmured.

" Massive fall? Lose memories?" Louis asked, looking perplexed.

Liam lightly bites his lips. " Do you know what happened in the story of Beauty and the Beast?" He asked.

" All I know is that Queen Belle broke King Beast's curse and was able to become a human again." Louis merely responded. " What does my brother got to do with all of that?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

" Well. Dad lived in the same Village as Queen Belle after he finished serving his time at the War." Liam explained. " He became smitten with Queen Belle, finding her the most beautiful woman in the Village. Unaware that Mum fancied him in return after he saved her and her sisters' life from some bandits." He amusingly shakes his head.

Louis looked surprised to hear that Gaston went to a different Village instead of heading home after the War. He hummed, figuring his older brother only planned on staying in that Village to stock up on supplies. However, stuff came up, such as Queen Belle and King Beast.

" Dad started to pursue Queen Belle, wanting to have her as his wife. However, Queen Belle left the Village when she learned that her father got captured by the Beast, aka King Beast. And blah blah blah." Liam had heard his father's story so many times that he wanted to get straight to the point.

" Dad thought that saving Queen Belle from King Beast would make her realize that he is good for her. So, he and several Villagers went to the Castle to rescue her. However, Dad and the others didn't know that Queen Belle fell in love with King Beast after spending so much time with him." Liam looked at Louis.

Louis nodded.

" So, the Villagers started to fight against King Beast's servants while Dad went to the top of the Castle to rescue Queen Belle from King Beast. They fought, and Dad stabbed King Beast in the back, but that caused him to get mad, and he threw Dad over his shoulder. And yeah, he fell several feet to his Death.

However, miraculously, Dad survived, losing lots of blood and not remembering what happened to him. It was then that Mum came to the rescue since she was washing her laundry when she recognized Dad lingering in the river. My Mum was brave, swimming towards him, afraid that the currents would take Dad away. For several months, she nursed him back to health, and Dad started to develop feelings for her. Then they got married and had my brothers and me." Liam finished.

" Wow." That was all Louis said since he couldn't believe that Gaston had gone through so much.

" Yeah. Then King Beast decided to create Isle of the Lost, and my parents and brothers, since my Mum was pregnant with me at the time, got forced to leave Auradon. My youngest brother, Gil, wasn't born yet. Because of King Beast's history with Dad, my Mum had to leave her two sisters behind." Liam frowned while looking at Paulette and Laurette serving food and drinks to the customers.

Louis grabbed Liam's hands and lightly grasped them. He couldn't believe King Beast had taken Gaston, Liam, his sister-in-law, and nephews away from him. Not only that, but he also lost Anastasia and Anthony in the same way.

Louis frowned, not liking that the Royal Family had ruined their lives because of their fear that their unborn child would live among all those well-known Villains.

Louis finds it unethical since these notable Villains had already died or had gotten forgiven by their respective Heroes. For example, his Fiancee, Anastasia. Cinderella gave her step-sister a second chance at a Happily Ever After. She matchmade Anastasia with Louis, causing them to fall in love and have their first child.

" Do you think these Heroes knew what King Beast did that day?" Louis asked, looking curious as he wondered if Queen Cinderella knew what had happened to Anastasia that awful night.

" Honestly, I don't know. But, I do know someone who can tell me." Liam murmured while thinking about Ben, the Crown Prince of Auradon.

Louis nodded. " If you get your answer, can you let me know?" He asked, looking desperate.

Liam tightly grasped Louis' hands and nodded. He felt determined to confront Ben. He wondered if the Crown Prince knew what his parents, specifically his father, did fifteen years ago.
