Ch. 32 Meeting the King and Queen of Auradon

Liam silently walks next to Ben, looking at Lumiere and Cogsworth warily. He lightly bites his lips, beginning to regret coming to the place where his father nearly died.

' Is agreeing to come here a horrible idea?' Liam internally asked. ' Then again, I do want to see that man's face and ask him why he did what he did fifteen years ago.' His hands tightened into fists.

Ben glanced at Liam, seeing him look conflicted. He wanted to comfort him and reassure him that nothing horrible would happen to him. However, he kept his hands to himself since he didn't want Liam to feel awkward with him.

Cogsworth turns his head slightly to look at Liam. He looks away and turns his gaze to Lumiere.

" What is His Highness thinking bringing that boy here?" Cogsworth softly asked. " Isn't he aware that boy is the son of his parent's enemy?" He frowned, looking worried.

Lumiere turns his gaze to Cogsworth.

" His Highness is quite aware that Liam is the son of his parent's enemy. Even though he is King Beast's son, you must remember that he is Queen Belle's son. My gut tells me our boy has seen something in Liam that no one has seen yet." Lumiere softly responded.

" You must also remember that King Beast still has an animalistic side. And seeing that boy can trigger that side." Cogsworth mumbled, looking worried.

" Queen Belle is with him. She wouldn't let anything horrible happen to Liam." Lumiere reassured.

Cogsworth sighed, getting anxious when he saw the Library closer with each step.

Lumiere stops walking and turns to look at Ben and Liam. " We are here." He informs the two teens.

Ben and Liam stop walking and looks at the door. They watched Lumiere knock on the door, open it, and poke his head inside.

" Greetings, Your Majesty's. Your son has arrived and has brought company with him." Lumiere informs King Beast and Queen Belle.

Queen Belle lifts her head and smiles when she sees Lumiere. Her chocolate-brown eyes sparkle in glee when she hears that her son, Ben, has come to visit them.

" Let them in." King Beast spoke.

Lumiere opens the door and steps inside, with Cogsworth following him. The two older males stepped aside to let Ben and Liam into the Library.

Ben enters the Library first and smiles when he sees his parents sitting on a couch with books surrounding them. Unbeknownst to him, Liam stayed back, scared to confront King Beast.

" Ben!" Queen Belle stands up and walks towards Ben, feeling happy to see her son even though she saw him yesterday before he went to school.

" Hey, Mom." Ben greets Queen Belle and hugs her.

" Have you eaten breakfast?" Queen Belle asked while hugging Ben.

" We haven't," Ben responded.

" Who did you bring, and where are they?" King Beast asked when he didn't see anyone enter the Library with Ben.

Ben's forest-green eyes blinked, looking confused. He lets go of Queen Belle and turns around, not seeing Liam.

" Lumiere. Can you let him know that he can come inside?" Ben asked Lumiere.

Lumiere nodded.

' Him?' Queen Belle and King Beast looked at each other.

Lumiere turns and walks toward the door. He leans forward, and his chocolate brown eyes blink when he sees Liam looking at him warily.
