Maya's Pov

Mason was our brother. Mason was our brother. He was a son of Poseidon, and no one knew. We were all in our cabin waiting for Charlie, she ran off into the woods. "Does anyone know where Charlie is?" Bee asked. A few mumbled "No's" and shoulder shrugs answered her. "I'm here, so is Percy." Charlie breathed, out of breath, clearly. "Percy was gone?" Carlotta asked, "Rude." Percy said in response, "Uh huh, love you too Perce." Cal said quickly.

"Anyways, where were you guys?" I questioned. "Finding dad, unfortunately." Charlie responded. "What, why?" "Always with the questions, Bee." "You know me, Cal." "Alright, back on track, Dad said he didn't claim Mason earlier because he didn't want him to be in "more danger". Isn't it fun when gods say they don't want you in trouble but then they send you into wars?" Charlie interrupted.

"Wait so dad didn't claim Mason 'cause of the trouble? We're already in trouble no matter what, even at camp." I mentioned, "Maya! Not the best timing for that oh my gods..." Bee said. "What? Oh... sorry, I'm trying not to think about that." "None of us are, especially after Masons claiming.." Cal whispered. The cabin was quiet for a few minutes, letting the realization of Mason, sweet little, innocent Mason, was our brother.

Whenever Hermes cabin got too packed we would always let some camper stay with us, one of them was always Mason. No matter what, he'd always find a way to get back to us. I guess he always knew there was something for him here. "We need to tell Amilia and Tyson.." I said, "We know, but it's going to hit them hard." Cal pointed out. "Hit who hard?" Amilia asked.

All of us looked at the door, and there stood Amilia. "Uh," Charlie looked at us for help. "This ones on you Charlie.." Bee whispered. "You guys suck, Amilia?" Amilia looked at Charlie, "Mason's our brother-" "Oh! That's great!" Amilia exclaimed, "No, Amilia, Mason... he- he died..." Charlie said slowly. "What? What do you mean?" Amilia asked, slowly tearing up. "There, there was a fight, a battle if you will, and a lot of people died, including Mason." Percy piped up. "No... I could've helped, I could've been there." Amilia got out before she broke down. I quickly ran over to her, helping her to a bed. "Hey it'll be ok. It wasn't a fair fight, we couldn't have saved them in time." I told Amilia.

After a while of comforting each other, we decided to go to the lake. All of us always went there when we needed to calm down. "Hey! Percy, Maya, Charlie, Bee, Cal, Amilia! Gods that was a mouthful..." Nico yelled behind us. We all turned around to see him, "Hm?" Bee asked, "I uh, Mason wants to talk to you guys, his spirit I mean." Nico said quickly. "When?" "Here?" "Now?" three of us asked all at once. "Uh, now, yes and yes." Nico answered . "Ok uh, what do you need again?" Percy asked. He'd seen Nico summon a spirit before, unfortunately it was Bianca's, Nico's sister. "Just some food and drinks, preferably McDonald's." Nico said, "I also need you guys to help me dig a hold for the food and drinks. Charlie and Percy go get the food, you guys have the most experience out there, everyone else, help me dig." Nico ordered.

Once the hole was dug, all of us waited for Percy and Charlie. "What's taking them so long?" Cal asked, "The mortal world is crazy, especially New York, I wouldn't be surprised if they got lost." Nico responded. "We're here... gods I hate monsters.." Percy panted. Charlie fell to the floor exhausted, "Me too, me too oh my gods I hate life." "Wait, you guys were attacked? Are you ok?" I asked, "We're fine," Charlie responded. "Let's summon our brother.."

"Alright," Nico started, all of the McDonald's was in the pit, he just needed to do his magic. Nico started to chant in Ancient Greek. "What-" I started to say,"Shh, we have to stay quiet while Nico does this, we don't want to mess him up" Percy interrupted, I nodded my head and continued to watch Nico work. The temperature dropped and everything became eerily silent, like a graveyard.

Suddenly spirits rushed forward to the pit. "No! Stop! This is for Mason Smith, and Mason Smith alone!" Nico shouted, then one bright blue spirit came forward, "Mason.." We all whispered together, "Hey guys! I miss you all! Lee is taking care of me, so is Castor! They're both really nice to me, I think they want to say hi too, can they?" Mason ranted, "Of... of course they can, I'll go get Bea and Pollux." Amilia said, running off.

"So, I'm your guys' brother? Pretty cool. Wait! Does that mean I can control water?!" Mason asked. We chuckled " Yes, yes it means that you can control water Mase, gods we love you." "I love you guys too Perce! How do I control the water?" "You just need to focus on it, focus on how it moves, and then move it your way." Bee explained. "Am I doing it?" Mason asked, his eyes closed. "Yes! You are! Good job Mason!" Cal exclaimed. "Yay! I did it! Lee, Castor, I did it!" "Good job Mason!" Castor spoke, "Castor?" Pollux whispered, looking at his twin. "Pollux! Bea!"

"How can we see you?" Bea asked, "I summoned Mason and he asked if Castor could come too, same with Lee." Nico spoke from the shadows, "Jesus Christ Nico! Stop doing that!" Charlie yelled. All of us laughed while Charlie held her chest with her hand dramatically.

After an hour or so Lee pointed out that Nico was looking paler than usual. "I'm fine." Nico said "Nico you're not fine what's wrong." Lee said, going full healer mode. "I said I'm fine." Nico said before passing out. The spirits vanished and all the warmth came back immediately. "Nico!" Charlie rushed forward to catch him, after Bianca died, Charlie was like an older sister to Nico. "We need to get him to Bella."

"Charlie sit down, you're going to burn a hole in the ground if you keep pacing." I spoke up. "Sorry, I'm just worried." "I know, but he's going to be okay." I said while Charlie sat down. "Stop bouncing your knee." Bee said from the other side of the infirmary. "Sorry.." Charlie whispered, stopping her knee from bouncing. "Nico's okay, but he needs to stay overnight. He also won't stay so we need someone to convince him. Do any of you know anyone that could convince him to stay here?" Bella spoke quickly, "Uh yea Charlie can convince him." I said. "What? Why me?" We all gave her a look, "You are literally the closest one to him, go convince him to stay." Cal said. Charlie nodded and walked into the room

"Somethings wrong with her. She's not right, menatly I mean. Neither are any of you." I observed. "Maya, we all just lost Mason, and so many others, none of us are going to be okay." Amilia said, "No, you guys are acting like that, but Charlie? She's acting differently, so is Percy." I pointed out. "We're fine, trust me." Percy said. There was something about the way he said that they were fine. "No, somethings wrong." Bee said. "They're both right, what is it?" Cal asked. "Don't tell her I told you but, she got taken by Luke and something happened, she hasn't told me what happened, there." Percy explained. "What? Is she ok?" Amilia asked frantically.

"I think so, she hasn't said anything about it, other than she wanted to be a spy for us." Percy said. "A spy? Why? Doesn't she know how dangerous that is?" I knew that she knew it, she was the one person who understood everything. She understood everything about my past. All of the ups and downs. She was the first person I ever told. She was the first person to hear what my mom did to me. "Percy, I told you not to say a word! I trusted you, I trusted you not to talk." Charlie shouted.
