Amilia's Pov
As I was walking to the stables for my activity, Chiron stopped me to talk. "Amilia, I know you have only just gotten back to camp, but I need you to go out into the mortal world again very soon. I have an important task for you." He said, walking with me to the stables.
"Chiron, I can't leave. Not when Charlie just got hurt like that." I said, stopping. "Like what? When did she get hurt?" Chiron asked, confused. "Last night, she got stabbed. Didn't you see her this morning?" I asked, walking to Charlie's activity, I knew Chiron wanted to see her.
"No, I wasn't at breakfast today. I need to examine her wound, to figure out what stabbed her." Chiron said, following me. I nodded and started running to the lake, Charlie taught the younger campers how to swim. "Charlie! Come here real quick!" I shouted. Charlie nodded and got all the campers and herself out and walked over, bone dry.
"What's up?" Charlie asked, she looked paler now that she was out of the water. "Amilia told me you got stabbed last night. I need to check your wound to see what stabbed you, just in case." Chiron said. Chiron always got worried about us, he was like a second dad. Well more of a dad than our real dad could ever be.
Charlie nodded and said, "Alright, I'll be in the infirmary soon. I just have to dry them off and send them off." Charlie walked to the campers while me and Chiron walked to the infirmary. "You're worried about you aren't you?" Chiron said, looking at me. "Of course I am, she got stabbed in the middle of the night by some monster that could still be there." I said, pacing in the waiting room.
We had been in the infirmary for about two minutes when Charlie walked in. "How can I help you guys?" Bella asked as she walked into the waiting room. "I need to check Charlie's wound, to see what stabbed her." Chiron said, walking to Bella. Bella nodded and walked to a room in the back.
"Let me know when you guys are done." Bella said, walking out. Charlie started to remove the bandage from her stab wound for Chiron to look at it. "Oh dear.." Chiron said, looking at the wound. "What? What's wrong?" I asked, moving closer to a confused looking Charlie. "It's not from a monster... It's from a sword, and based on how it looks. It was held by a skilled fighter. Bella said they almost punctured my lung. This was done by someone from Luke's army." Charlie said, looking at her wound.
"What do you mean someone from Luke's army? They're here?" I asked, looking at Charlie. "It looks like it.." Chiron said, I had forgotten he was here. "Who are our best fighters? Could we line them up and have them stab a dummy? We just have to tell them to do that and not tell them what it's for." I asked, looking at both of them.
"I know all of them, I helped train them after all." Charlie said, looking at us. Before Luke went bad, he helped train Charlie, and once Charlie got better than him, she helped him train everyone else. Even though I hate to admit how much better Charlie is than me at sword fighting, she is one of the best.
After getting every good sword fighter in the arena and setting a dummy up for each of them, Chiron began talking. "I know you're all probably wondering why we called you all here. We are going to be holding a little competition; this competition consists of hitting the dummy on the right side near the lung and how accurate you are. That is all, go ahead and start." Chiron said, walking around.
Charlie wasn't here with us so it wouldn't seem obvious about what we were trying to do. After a few minutes Chiron dismissed the fighters and told them the winner would be announced at dinner. After looking at the thirteen different dummies we deduced it down to three different dummies, Liana's, Vicky's, and Ella's.
We figured it couldn't be Vicky 'cause she was too close with any of us to stab Charlie. Liana barely had hit where the lung would've been, she was just a little too accurate so that left Ella. Ella had been the one who stabbed Charlie.
I was running as fast as I could to our cabin, I needed to warn Charlie. I was about to run up the steps when I saw three figures surrounding Charlie's bed. Everyone else was at lunch, and Charlie was asleep. I wanted to run in and fight them but I knew I shouldn't. They could hurt her even more.
I walked around to the back to look in the windows. I noticed one figure by her twin daggers, Liana. What was she doing looking over Charlie like that? I looked at the figure in the middle, her sword by her side. It took me a while to figure out whose sword it was, Vicky.
The last figure had to be Ella, there was no one else it could be. Why did they all have their weapons pulled on Charlie? "I'm not going back there!" I heard someone shout. "Keep it down! You're going to blow our cover." Vicky yelled, at Charlie presumably. I had to find someone to help. I had to get Chiron or Percy.
I ran to the dining pavilion to get both of them. "Chiron!" I yelled, "It's Charlie! I need you quick!" I said, running out. I knew Percy would follow. He and Charlie were the closest out of all of us.
By the time we got back to the cabin, all four of them were gone. "Damnit!" I yelled, kicking my bed. I was never there on time. I wasn't here to help during the battle of the labyrinth. I wasn't here when Mason died. "I'm never here when people need me." I yelled, starting to tear up.
"Amilia, it's not your fault, it's only Luke's. Charlie knew what she was getting herself into, you know that." Percy said, walking over to me and hugging me. Percy might've been closest with Charlie, but that doesn't mean he isn't protective. Him and Tyson were our only brothers. We all knew what it felt like to lose someone, more now after Mason.
I wanted to be there with Charlie. I was closer with her than I was with Maya or Jo. "I need to go find her. I have to find her." I said, looking at both of them. By then, the rest of the cabin made it. "Find Charlie?" Maya asked, confused. "No find Apollo, yes find Charlie!" Percy said, his sarcasm coming out.
"Wait, no. Amilia no, you're not going to find Charlie. You'll blow her cover. We know what could happen. Luke will kill her." Percy said after realizing what I said. I glared at him. I knew he was right, if I went I'd blow her cover and she'd die.
I looked around for Chiron, but he wasn't there. I wanted to get my mind off things and figure out whatever it was he needed me to do in the mortal world. "Where'd Chiron go?" I asked, looking around again. "Oh, Chiron left when we got here. He said he'd be in the Big House." Bee said. I nodded and made my way to the blue building.
I ran into Bea, Nikola and Phee while running out. "What happened? Your whole cabin left lunch?" Phee asked, trying to look into the cabin. "Charlie was taken back to Luke." I said, starting to walk away. "What? Is she-" Bea started. "Bea, we know this was bound to happen I'm sure Charlie's fine." Nikola interrupted, looking at Bea. I nodded and ran off. I wanted to see what the mortal world was going to have in store for me.
