Kat's Pov

Today is Halloween. It's arguably the best day of the year. You get free candy, you can dress up, it's the only socially acceptable time to scare kids. Sure there weren't as many people at camp right now, but there were still some kids I could scare. If I wanted to, that is. For now I just plan on getting candy.

Right now, I'm getting ready for trick or treating. I was going to be Draculara from Monster High (the old one, not the new one). Today was also a special day for just me, it's my birthday!

"Kat! Where are you?" Nyx asked, walking into my cabin. "I'm over in me room, why?" I responded, walking out to meet Nyx. "We need help getting candy, Leo forgot it all." Nyx said, leading the way to the dining pavilion.

"Of course he did, why wouldn't he? Who let Leo be in charge of the candy anyways?" I asked, starting to think of who I should take with me to get the candy. "Phee let him, which is why Phee's also going with you to get the candy." Nyx said, reading my expression. I nodded and headed over to the bathroom, where Phee was.

"Phee! You're coming with me to get the candy!" I yelled from outside the door, when Phee walked out, I saw they were dressed as Cupid. "Do I have to go?" Phee asked, walking out the door. "Well you're the one who put Leo in charge of getting the candy and he didn't, so yes you have to come." I said, grabbing her hand and going to Thalia's Tree.

Once Argus dropped us off at a candy store called Sweet On America in Grand Central Station. We walked in and saw Percy and Charlie there talking to a lady who seemed very sweet. "Well well well, if it isn't my two favorite water benders." I said, walking up behind them. Charlie and Percy hadn't been at camp since it was almost the middle of the school year.

"Kat! It's so good to see you!" Charlie said, hugging me. "It's good to see you guys too, how's school going?" I asked them, I had never really properly been to school, but Cabin Six has always taught me stuff.

"It's been good, math sucks as usual. How about you? What're you doing here?" Charlie asked me. "I've been doing good, we're here for the candy. Since someone put Leo Valdez on candy duty." I said looking at Phee.

"Look, he said he'd get it ok? It's not my fault." Said Phee, putting her hands up in surrender. I think I saw Phee wink before I looked away but I might've been seeing things. "It's nice to meet you Kat, I've heard great things." The lady from behind the counter said.

"Mom! Sorry, Kat, this is our mom, Sally." Percy said, introducing us. "It's nice to meet you Mrs. Jackson." I said, shaking her hand, "Sally will do just fine dear." Sally said, I nodded my head.

"Alright, I need to get the candy and head back to camp." I said, grabbing some money I took from Phee, she didn't need to know though. "Oh, we'll come with you, we have nothing to do later tonight anyway." Charlie said, walking with us out the door.

I don't think any of us realized how dangerous it was for us to be walking in New York, four demigods, and two kids of the big three. It wasn't long till the monster showed up, I guess we did get lucky, but it still wasn't the best present ever.

"Phee get behind me! Percy, go over to the outer side, Kat over there!" Charlie yelled, moving into the attack position. We had the unfortunate luck of running into the Minotaur, weirdly enough, both Percy and Charlie have fought it, so they knew what to do.

It wasn't long before we got back into the van Argus drove and made it back to camp. "Somethings wrong," I said, walking around the cabins, "No ones yelling at the Stolls?" Percy asked, "No, no ones here. Camps empty."I said walking to my cabin.

I walked in and no one was there, the only thing I saw that was different was the number 12 written on a piece of paper thrown on my bed. "Twelve, what does that mean?" Phee asked, looking at the rest of us. "Cabin Twelve!" I shouted, running out the door.

Before I opened the door, I heard laughing. I walked in and got yelled at. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAT! WE LOVE YOU!" Everyone shouted. "Happy birthday Katie." Charlie said, walking up from behind me to give me a hug. "Thank you. Thank you guys so much!" I said to everyone.

I have to say, it was the best birthday by far. Sure I hadn't had many proper birthdays, but it was still the best. We even went trick or treating around the cabins after. "So, good birthday or what?" Nikola asked, "One of the best! Thank you!" I said, hugging him, "Don't thank me, thank Phee. It was their idea." Nikola said, pointing to Phee. I ran to Phee and gave her a hug saying, "Thank you!"
