Jalen's Pov

While waiting for Charlie the room was silent. I don't think any of us were prepared for how she would react. "We're back." Nico said, standing in the doorway before Charlie grabbed his hand and shoved him into a chair next to Ethan and Connor. "Why does it look like it's going to turn into sand? How old is this?" Charlie asked, looking up at Chiron. "Centuries old, I can't quite remember." He said, looking at the paper in her hand.

While Charlie unfolded it, I saw everyone tense up. "Should I read it out loud?" Charlie asked, looking around. "Yes, I want to know what it says." Nico said, looking up at Charlie. "A half-blood of the eldest... dogs?" Charlie looked up confused, I guess the idiocy ran in the family. "Gods, Charlie, it says gods. You're just like Percy I swear." Annabeth said, rolling her eyes while smiling. "Unfortunately, but it is kinda surprising seeing as we aren't actually twins, I guess we just picked up on each other's habits." Charlie said looking back down at the paper. "A half blood-" "You gutes aren't twins?" Connor asked, looking between Charlie and Percy. "No we're not, keep reading Char." Percy said, looking at one spot on the table.

"A half-blood of the eldest gods, shall reach sixteen against all odds. And see the world in an endless sleep, a hero's soul cursed blade shall reap..." Charlie's voice fell off after that, and she looked up, scared. "Chiron, I'm the only one of us who's going to turn sixteen. Why didn't you tell me about this earlier?" She asked, looking at him accusingly. "Keep reading." Was all Chiron said. looking at the door to the Big House. Charlie looked back down and started to read again. "A single choice shall end their days, Olympus to preserve or raze." Charlie looked up again, but this time more scared then I had ever seen her.

I had watched her grow up, I had seen her fight. She never backed down and rarely lost in a spar. She was one of the bravest kids at this camp, seeing her this scared terrified me. "It may not be what it seems, prophecies are never clear." Chiron said, looking at Charlie. Percy walked over and hugged her. "I'm not going to let you die. I can promise you that." He said, grabbing her shoulders and shaking her gently. "None of us will let you die, not after all that you've done for us." I said, standing up and walking over to her. "We can make sure of it." I smiled, hugging her.

"Thank you guys." She said, looking around at everyone. We all smiled at her and sat back down. "Alright, time to figure out how to win this war." Annabeth said, looking at her sister, Liana. "I know that a few days before my birthday Luke was planning on bringing his ship into the harbor, after he gets anyone he could onto his side, it's the easiest way to invade New York." Charlie said, making a map out of water since we didn't have one. "Show off.." I heard Connor whisper before Charlie elbowed him in the ribs.

"Ow! What was that for?" Connor said, rubbing his side. "You know what it was for. You're just playing dumb, although you really are dumb, so you're just being you." Charlie said, grinning at Connor. "You're so mean to me." Connor said, crossing his arms and sitting back in his chair. "Well you can suck it up." Charlie said, standing up. "Are you two done?" I asked, smiling. They were always like this, two best friends that grew up four doors away from each other. They both nodded their heads, clearly trying to keep themselves from laughing. "On a more serious note, we need to tell Charlie something." Percy said, looking around the room. "Oh gods, what now? Someone die? New campers?" Charlie asked, rubbing her eyes.

"Cal is dead." Bee said, walking through the door.  It's like the air was sucked out of the room and the temperature dropped. We all looked at Nico who shook his head, "That wasn't me." He said, looking at Charlie. "How?" She asked, looking at Bee. "The Battle of the Labyrinth. She got hurt and hid it until now. We only figured out last week, she died two days ago." Bee explained, grabbing Charlie's arm. Suddenly the temperature dropped again and the water map turned to ice. Percy and Bee grabbed Charlie's arms and took her out of the Big House, and as soon as the door closed, the temperature went back normal and the map fell and shattered.

"How does she do that?" Bea asking, running hands up and down her arms. "Who knows, it's so cool though." Leo said. While Charlie Beckendorf was out for the school year, the new kid took over. "Did you make a pun?" Connor asked, smiling. "Yeah.." Leo said, also smiling. "Ok, they won't be coming back anytime soon so you're all free to go. We'll have another meeting tomorrow." Chiron said, walking out of the room. I walked over to Ella and grabbed her arm, pulling her back to our cabin.

"Oi, stop pulling in my arm! I'm older than you. And the cabin counselor." She said, pulling her arm back when we walked into the cabin. "You're not the cabin counselor anymore. Not after you left, it's my job now." I said, shoving her to her bunk. "We left it open for you, just settle in again and then go to you normal activities." I finished, walking out and heading over to the pavilion. I managed to catch the end of lunch with 14 minutes left. "Is it true? Did Charlie freeze the water?" Jacob asked. I looked over at him, there was no way he could've found out this quickly. It just happened a minute ago. "Yes? How'd you know?" I asked, looking at the rest of my cabin. Clarisse looked over to the Hermes table and pointed at Harry. "He saw it all, started telling kids. I don't know what's up with him, but I don't trust him." Kyle said, taking a bite of his bagel.

I nodded my head and took a drink of my diet Dr. Pepper. I know Charlie didn't like being able to do all these things. No one in camp knew about her blood bending but the cabin counselors, Chiron, and her cabin. After lunch was over I went to Charlie's next activity. I needed to talk with her. "Bee? Where does Charlie go now?" I asked, walking into cabin three. "Her activity is archery, why?" Bee asked, grabbing her sword and walking out of the cabin with me. "I just need to talk to her, about what happened." I replied, walking over to the archery range.

"Charlie! I need to talk to you." I said, walking over to her helping Connor. "Give me a minute, I'm still teaching this idiot how to fire a bow." She said, grabbing his arm again. "Still? It's been years." I asked, moving out of the way. "It's not my fault I don't get it. It's weird." Connor said, shooting the bow again. "It's not that hard, you're just an idiot. I'm gonna help you one more time, this is so annoying." Charlie said, moving Connors hips and pulling his arm back. "Just shoot when you're ready, I've told you how." Charlie said, backing up. I watched the arrow hit the target on its bullseye. "You finally did it!" Charlie yelled, hugging him. "I am simply, too good." He said, hugging her back. "Alright, Charlie I need to talk to you now." I said, walking out of ear shot of everyone around. "You do know that Harry from eleven told everyone about the ice thing right?" I asked, looking at her. She nodded her head and added on. "I also think he knows about the blood bending. It's weird." I stood there for a second thinking. "Did you ever see him on Luke's ship? He just got here two weeks ago. Still new and my and Clarisse doesn't trust him, neither does Kyle." I said, looking at the archer range. Connor missed the target again. "God he fucking sucks at archery. But I haven't seen Harry so I couldn't tell you if he was on the ship. Show me where he is, I wanna make sure." She said, looking at the rest of camp.

We walked back to Connor, he should know where his brother was. "Where's Harry right now?" Charlie asked, looking at Connor miss again. "He should be at the lake, who do you need him?" He asked, putting the bow down. "Cabin five doesn't trust him, plus he told everyone about the ice, been getting looks since." Charlie said, looking at the ground. "He is a little secretive, let's go." He said, walking to put the bow and arrows away. "How come you never told me about the ice? Thought we were best friends?" Connor asked, walking ahead of me with Charlie. "I guess I was scared, there's already the whole blood thing." Charlie said, falling back with me.

"Harry!" Connor yelled, getting his brothers attention, that's when Charlie froze. "He was on the ship.." I heard her whisper. I saw Connor tense up, and Charlie start shaking. "He never saw me, just act normal." She whispered, grabbing my arm. "Jay I need to go." She said, dragging me away with her.
