Charlie's Pov
"Let's get you to your cabin yeah?" Connor asked, following me out of the Big House. "Why did they bring her here?" I asked, looking at the ground. In no way did them bringing that woman here make sense. "I don't know, but you shouldn't keep thinking about it Cha. You need to sleep, I can tell you're exhausted." Connor said, grabbing my hand and walking towards the cabins. "No, I need to find someone, and cabin thirteen." I said, breaking his grip and walking towards Hades' cabin. "No, you need to rest." Connor said, stopping me. "Connor I need to work." I said, walking away again.
"Why are you being so difficult? You need to rest or you're going to over work yourself." He said, stopping me again. "Because if I do rest, she'll be in my nightmares." I said, looking up at Connor. "I can't afford to lose time either." I whispered, turning around. "Then let me help." He said, walking with me. I didn't bother saying no, he wouldn't listen anyway.
I knocked on the door to cabin thirteen and waited. "Hey Charlie." Nico said, opening the door, "Hey, when did you guys get back?" I asked, looking at him. I expected Nyx to be the only one here since the other three left two days ago. "Yesterday." He said simply. "Did you just not tell anyone or?" I asked, laughing a little. "No we told Chiron." He said, shrugging his shoulders. "Alright well how did the quest go? Is Hades going to help?" I asked, hopeful that he'd take his kids' advice. "No. I don't think we should've gotten our hopes up either." Nico said, frowning. I nodded my head and thanked him before walking away.
"I don't get why the gods can't help. I mean I do quite literally have a choice to make to make sure they stay alive." I said, frowning at the ground. "Who knows, maybe they want to die." Connor said, shrugging. We kept walking until we got to cabin nine. I knocked on the door and waited for someone to open it.
"Hey little one, what's up?" Charlie Beckendorf asked me. "I was wondering if you know where Leo was? I need to talk to him." I asked. "I think I saw him wonder into the woods a while ago. Need help with anything else?" Beckendorf asked. "Oh, Tyson made Percy a shield that stays as a watch normally, kinda like the way his sword is a pen, and mine is the necklace. Is there a way you could make a bow and some arrows into jewelry? Like a ring or something?" I asked, I knew it was a tough task but, if there was anyone who could make this, it'd be him. "I can try kid, no promises though." He said smiling and messing my hair up. "Thank you!" I said, hugging him. "Anytime little one." He said, smiling down at me.
Me and Connor walked away towards the forest to find Leo. "You are the only one who can ask for the hardest thing to build from them that they'd say yes to." Connor said, laughing lightly. "What can I say? I'm irresistible." I said, spinning around before tripping over a branch and falling into Connor. "And you apparently have no balance." He said, pushing himself up from the ground. We were in the most awkward position that you could probably imagine. When I fell and knocked him over, he fell on top of me. "You gonna stay there or stand up?" I asked, looking up at him. "Right, sorry." He said, getting up and offering me his hand. After he pulled me up we heard someone whistle. "I feel like I'm walking in on something." He said, walking closer to us.
I put my hand on my necklace and pushed Connor behind me, knowing he didn't have his sword or dagger on him. "Who's talking?" I asked, looking around. "Just me." Luke said, walking out of the shade. "How did you get back here?" I asked, pulling the charm off of my necklace and flicking my wrist. We were far enough into the woods where no one would hear us calling for help. "I have my ways." He said, looking between me and Connor. "No, we sealed up the labrinth. How did you get in?" I asked, panicking. If we didn't fully seal the labrinth, we would be fucked.
