Jo's Pov
"So Lia, what was the ship like?" I asked, breaking the silence in the cabin. "Jo, don't ask that." Annabeth said, looking up from her book. "What? It's not like we have anything else to do. You won't let me or Adi train for the war even though you know we're capable of fighting." I said, standing up and grabbing my water from the table. "I'm not putting you through any of that." Annabeth said, putting her book down. "It couldn't be that bad." Adi said, jumping off of her bunk. "To answer your question Jo, the ship wasn't bad, and Adi, wars are never good. You should know this." Lia said, walking over to the maps that were lying on the table.
"Alright I'm leaving, I wanna see Bea and Charlie." I said, walking out of the cabin. "Wait for me, I don't wanna be here ." Adi said, following me out. "Where do you think Charlie is?" Adi asked, walking to cabin 12. "I'm not sure, she could very well be in the infirmary or at an activity. Maybe even at the Big House." I said, knocking on the door. Pollux opened the door and let us in. "What can I do for you guys?" He asked, sitting in his bunk while we sat on Bea's. "We just needed to see Bea, do you know where she is?" I asked, looking around the cabin. Usually there were vines everywhere but now it looked like they were all dying and falling off the walls. "I'm actually not sure, she left sometime this morning and I haven't seen her since." Pollux said, looking between me and Adi. "Ok, do you know where Charlie is?" Adi asked, standing up. "I think I saw her walking to the arena earlier." Pollux said, walking us to the door. "Thank you." I said, following Adi out.
"Where do you think Bea went?" I asked, looking around camp. "I'm not sure, she's been pretty distant since Charlie and them got back." Adi said, turning right on the path. "I guess she has been." I said, walking into the arena. I looked around and saw Charlie fighting with Clarisse. "Isn't she supposed to be resting or something?" Adi asked, walking to the seats to watch them. "I think so. Pretty sure Chiron told her to not do any really physical activity, or it was Bella, or Nick." I said, sitting with Adi. "C'mon Clarisse, don't go easy on me. I've seen you fight before, you can't trick me." Charlie said, backing away from Clarisse. "I'm not supposed to go hard on you, you're not even supposed to be doing this Char." Clarisse said, lowering her spear.
"I need to get my mind off of things, just fight me." Charlie said, walking over to her water bottle. "Charlie, I can't keep fighting, you know that." Clarisse said, grabbing her towel. "You're the only one who isn't afraid to fight me, everyone else treats me like I'm some kind of thing made of glass that's ready to break at any given second and it's pissing me off! I have gone on at least five quests that all could've ended badly, I've lost people I care about, I've almost died multiple times, I've held the fucking sky! I just need people to treat me like I'm a normal kid, not like a glass sculpture they might drop." Charlie yelled, looking at Clarisse. "But you're not a normal kid, you never will be Char, you can't blame them for that." Clarisse said, walking over to Charlie. "Then why can't they pretend, I'm slowly losing everyone. I'm losing control over what I can do and I don't know what to do to fix it. I've asked Mr.D, I've asked Chiron, I've even asked my dad! I don't know what to do and it's driving me insane." Charlie yelled, looking up at Clarisse with tears running down her cheeks. "Then we ask Zeus, we ask Hera, we ask Athena. We will ask all of the gods to help you. We will help you." Clarisse said, giving Charlie a hug.
Me and Adi walked over and joined the hug. "We won't stop till we help you." I said, looking up at Charlie who was still crying. "I love you guys." She said, hugging us tighter. As we stayed there more people joined the hug. I saw new kids joining and people who I hadn't seen in years.
After we all pulled back from the hug, which took a little while since it looked like the whole camp was there, we all looked at Charlie. "Who do we need to talk to first?" Heja asked from my right. "First we need to figure out how to talk to the gods." Ella said, walking over to Clarisse. "I think we should get Athena and Apollo first, Poseidon too. They're the ones who could probably help us the best." I said, standing next to Charlie. "I can get our dad." Percy said, walking away. "I can try and get Apollo." Nick said, walking to his cabin. "I can try and contact my mom." I said, walking to my cabin. "Like you're doing that on your own, let me help." Adi said, following me out. "How would we contact mom? Iris message?" I asked, walking into our cabin. "That's probably the easiest way, we just need mist." Adi said, going into the bathroom.
