Heian Wangzi just would not die.

Hui Gai was both frustrated with his persistent belief in his own victory and admiration for the same trait. They were both getting tired too, and that made the bigger Demon make mistakes which he otherwise would not have.

The one advantage Hui Gai had over the bulky Demon was that his size made it easier for him to slide out of range.

Chou kept humming at him and for a few moments he allowed that to distract himself...not good when in the middle of a fight to the death...because Hui Gai wasn't going to lie to himself.

That's what this was, in a nutshell.

Out of the two of them, he supposed he had way more to live for. Family came first and that included everyone he knew, but he had real hopes and dreams of wanting to make this place better for the people.

There was so much work to do, so much hope to be spread, that even this fight seemed like it was wasting his time.

He snarled, baring his pointy teeth, and was about to fly up into the air to attack this fat guy from above, when he realised what Chuo wanted him to do.

It was so simple, that he had mistaken himself for being the thing to be thrown.

He did exactly that, just after deflecting the last lunge intended for his heart, and threw Chuo into the air.

Chuo burst into brilliant silver stars...which was great, Hui Gai thought they looked stupidly beautiful but really, was this the time to be putting on a show??

They did not in the least distract Heian Wangzi because he attacked again, lunging with his sharp sabre. Hui Gai held out his palms preparing to turn him into dust, having had quite enough of this song and dance, thank you very much...when Heian Wangzi cried out.

He dropped his weapon because all those silver stars, they had turned into dart, lethal and precise as they attacked. First his eyes, rendering him blind, followed by his ears making him deaf.

Then...then they attacked his whole body.

Qi deviation would have been a walk in the park compared to what he was suffering now.

And yet...how was he still alive?

Zago came to stand next to him with her hands on her hips, as Hui Gai folded his arms across his chest. He eyed the now yellow coloured lollipop in her fingers.

"Are they different flavours?" He asked, without looking at her.

"Sometimes."

"Hm?"

"Well...the thing is, sometimes I can detect the faintest difference in the taste. For example, yellow is lemon, green is pear, red is strawberry...you get the message...but now...I'm thinking your supplier is messing with you." She ripped open another one.

"How so?"

Hui Gai found it hard to concentrate because Chuo was increasingly agitated and suddenly sparked into a long graceful sword, similar to a katana.

In one fell swoop, Chuo lopped off the demon's head.

Hui Gai made a face as the blood gushed out, the body still twitching, sinking to its knees.

"At this point, it's just sugared water with food colouring. I think he knows he's onto a good thing, so there's a sharp decline in quality...either that or my tongue has gone numb."

"Wanna meet him?" Hui Gai offered.

Just then both dragons, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan let out their flames, burning the Demon and destroying his physical form until nothing was left.

Wei Ying transformed back into his human form and ran towards Hui Gai, checking his body for injuries. He made a wounded noise of distress when he saw the bleeding cut on Hui Gai's arm.

Hui Gai ignored that and wrapped his arms around his friend.

"PengYou...you have no idea how much I missed you..." He breathed into Wei Ying's hair. With his good arm, he brought a glaring Lan Zhan into the hug too, only slightly pacifying him. But Hui Gai had truly missed the Other One too, and he was too tired to be scared right now, not when his gratefulness at their return preceeded everything else.

Wei Ying hugged him back just as fiercely.

Lan Zhan...tolerated...

When they parted, they looked at each other's faces. Wei Ying was almost radiant and Lan Zhan was exclusively just staring at him, unconcerned about where they were or anything else going on around them, while Hui Gai contented himself by making sure Wei Ying was alright.

He giggled and grinned at Zago.

"Missed you too, Zago."

She beamed back.

"I couldn't help hearing about your...problem..." Wei Ying nodded towards her now blue lollipop. "I might be able to help with that."

"Really?" She looked far more interested in that than the fighting to stay alive thing.

"Yeah, let's get back home and then see." Wei Ying said eagerly as Lan Zhan gave up the fight not to hold him close like always.

"And yes, actually. I would like to meet him." Zago told Hui Gai. "You're getting shafted and I can't stand around and watch it happen right in front of my face."

"Fine...I'll see what I can do." Hui Gai promised.

All around them, while they had been busy catching up, the divine Celestial Warriors had been cleaning up. Any demons still fighting, either with themselves or a might they couldn't possibly hope to beat, the Warriors were casting their silver beams obliterating the threat.

Others had simply run away, because contrary to popular opinion, they weren't stupid.

When the whole area looked reasonably as it should before this whole thing had happened, Baoshan Sanren approached them.

"It seems our work is done now. Congratulations on connecting with your weapon." She winked at Hui Gai.

"Lan Zhan, slap me really hard, right now!"

"No."

"I mean it! I'm seeing it and I still can't believe it! At least pinch me?" Wei Ying beamed as bright as the sun, and Lan Zhan gave up and kissed him.
