Hui Gai and Zago teleported into the Jingshi but, finding it empty, they returned to the Hanshi.

"I'm saying thank you." Zago thrust a bundle of haphazardly tied parchments into Wei Ying's hands.

"Wow...thank you so much. I promise to get started as soon as possible." Wei Ying beamed at her, handing the pages to Lan Zhan, who showed Wei Ying which qiankun pouch he was putting them in before storing them away.

"Alright...if you don't need us then..." Hui Gai was saying.

"Did you...um...you know?" Wei Ying waggled his eyebrows.

Hui Gai nodded discreetly.

There was an oink from under XiChen's wide, billowing sleeve, and then a cute little snout snuffled out.

"Are you sure?" Wei Ying asked, stifling a smile now.

"Pretty sure...hang on, I'll go check." Hui Gai vanished and returned a few minutes later. "Yep, all are back to normal."

"Except this one." Wei Ying said, thinking hard. "XiChen-Ge...if you don't mind, may I take a look at your Ke-ai please?"

"A-Xian...what are you going to do?" XiChen asked him, coaxing his little piggy out from safety. He planted it in his lap and began stroking it, a dreamy, meditative look on his face.

"Uh...nothing...promise. Just check him for... anything...you know...just in case..." Wei Ying said softly, aware that XiChen was too attached to the little piggy now.

Still, if he was a person, he might feel trapped in that body. And what if the spell wore off later...like when all three of them were sleeping in that bed...together?

Wei Ying giggled at the possibilities while holding his arms out for XiChen to put his treasure into.

It was soft and warm and not unlike the bunnies though they were much hairier. But Wei Ying understood his charm; the little piggy was looking up at him with a real, adorable smile and Wei Ying was smiling back, utterly captivated by it's cuteness.

"He likes scratches on his head." XiChen suggested helpfully. "Li Li is a little rough with him...she's fascinated by his tail and keeps trying to put her finger through the curls."

Li XiWang yawned, setting off all the children one by one...even the little piglet.

Wei Ying had checked his little body and not found anything worth mentioning; maybe it was a real piglet...who could say? And all Wei Ying could do was keep an eye on it for now.

He nodded towards Hui Gai, who vanished with Zago and then they stood up to leave with two sleepy children. Li Li was already asleep because Lan Zhan had that magical quality of his, putting all children at ease. He passed the sweet child onto her father and they all whispered goodbyes.

Once outside, Wei Ying only had to shiver once and Lan Zhan had held him close with one hand, the other carrying Rumi. Wei Ying was already carrying Li XiWang and all of a sudden, they had teleported inside the Jingshi, in the children's room to be exact.

"There are certain benefits to being a Celestial." Wei Ying had beamed at Lan Zhan as they made quick work of changing the children's clothes.

"Shall we let Rumi stay with Little Rabbit tonight?" Lan Zhan asked.

Even asleep, they gravitated towards one another.

Wei Ying nodded, pulling the covers over them both.

"He'll have to walk in the cold otherwise." They both leant and kissed the children's foreheads before leaving their room.

Once they were back in their room, Wei Ying pushed Lan Zhan onto the bed and made him sit, before climbing onto his lap.

They both sighed into this sweet contact, having missed each other so much in this way. Lan Zhan felt his fingers weave into Wei Ying's heavy ponytail and he tugged so the red ribbon would come away.

All that gorgeous ebony hair cascaded down, silky smooth and strong between his fingers as he wrapped Wei Ying's ribbon around his wrist. Wei Ying's fingers caressed the white ribbon lengths that fell like a waterfall with Lan Zhan's beautiful hair, softly stroking it.

"What shall we do about Rumi?" Wei Ying sighed, feeling more and more relaxed as Lan Zhan continued running his hands through his hair.

"We can think about it tomorrow. How does Wei Ying feel now?" Lan Zhan made it a point not to let his voice show any immediate worry.

He was just making sure.

"A little tired...nothing worth mentioning really." Wei Ying said with a grin. "The benefits of being a Celestial are amazing truly. Before...when I was undergoing the change...that was a bone-deep exhaustion...completely different." He explained.

"I still want to check...to learn." Lan Zhan told him.

"But my love...aren't you forgetting something? Something really important?" Wei Ying blushed but he persistently continued.

His finger tipped Lan Zhan's chin up, and his eyes drifted towards those gorgeous lips with a greedy glance, before he resumed his teasing.

"I wonder what Wei Ying is talking about..." Lan Zhan pretended not to understand, loving the way Wei Ying pouted.

His husband was utterly adorable.

"Well, I just think when someone makes promises..they should keep them, that's all." Wei Ying huffed, a little bit disappointed.

"What kind of promises?" Lan Zhan asked with a straight face.

"Lan Zhaaan!" Wei Ying whined just seconds before Lan Zhan flipped them over onto the bed so he was lying on top of him.

With his teeth, and all the while keeping his golden eyes on Wei Ying's silver ones, Lan Zhan pulled at the ties holding his robes closed.

With his spare hand, Lan Zhan tossed out the silencing talismans all around their room ... and then, he pounced.
