𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐊𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢 x Reader || 𝑯𝒐𝒎𝒆

XV.

After seemingly forever, you were finally taking the last of your blood tests at the hospital. They kept you there for a little over a day due to your previous medical history.

Sasuke had stayed with you for most of your time there, while Kakashi was in and out to bring the two of you food. Although, him doing such things for you had only confused and agitated you more. There was definitely a weird tension between you both and it was quite obvious to everyone, even the oblivious Naruto. You and Kakashi both had a few interesting conversations here and there, however, the elephant in the room had yet to be brought to light.

On another note, the whole time you were there Sasuke could tell something was off, of course there was, you had just seen the one person you had helped raise as a child, the one who used to be the sweetest little sibling you could ever have known, turn out to be the same person who slaughtered your entire clan while you were m.i.a.

He constantly kept asking if I was okay, but you had simply kept giving the same replies, "im fine. don't worry about me. i'll be okay." which seemed to really irk him.

The nurse had finally came back to the room handing you your discharge papers. As you finished signing the papers you handed the nurse your paperwork and quickly grabbed your belongings.

Rushing out the hospital you are greeted by Kakashi who looked to be heading inside.

"Hey (Y/N), aren't you supposed to be inside?" he spoke looking you up and down. It made your stomach turn.

"Nope, I got discharged a little bit ago" You smile at him. You had already came to the conclusion that he was on his way to visit you again.

It was kind of interesting to you how one day he was being rude and ignoring you but now he is trying to take care of you. Men are confusing.

"I see, I was about to see if you would have like me to bring some lunch. But now I guess I can just take you out now" You had noticed a small smile forming under his mask as he spoke. You had thought it was quite cute that he was going to bring you food.

"Oh? You didn't have to keep coming in to check on me, I am sure you are very busy" The truth is you did enjoy him coming in to visit but it just made you feel like a burden. You know how to take care of yourself in most situations, this time was no different, but the circumstances were, and it really annoyed you that you cannot tell anyone what happened.

"Actually I haven't been busy at all, Asuma had offered to let team 7 train with team 10 so I am completely free for the time being. So please let me take you to get some food, I am sure you haven't eaten yet."

Letting out a soft sigh you admit defeat, "fine, you can take me to get lunch" You just knew he was having a field day with this too.

Shortly after the conversation, the two of you made it to a little restaurant and settle down in a little booth sitting across from one another.

Something had been on your mind and Kakashi could tell. He had noticed when they found you the other day in the forest. He wants to know what happened, but considering you keep saying nothing happened and you just hit your head, he doesn't want to push it.

"So..." you start as you pick up your menu and scan over what they have.

"I am sorry (Y/N)" He says solemnly.

"For what?" you pause and look up at him. He is fidgeting with his hands while looking you in the eyes.

"For how I treated you," He rubs the back of his neck, "I was wrong for treating you how I did. That was completely my fault. You did nothing wrong. I just, can't get you out of my head. I didn't want to get close to you, I thought having meaningless sex would help me stop thinking about you. But it only made it worse." He isn't looking at you anymore, he looking down at the table between you two.

"To be honest (Y/N) I hate you. I hate the way you make me feel." He stops, all you could do is sit there confused, and admittedly, a little hurt by his statement.

"(Y/N), all I do is hurt people. I don't want you to become one of those whom ends up getting hurt because of me." He seemed visibly pained as the words flowed from his mouth.

"Kakashi.." you breathe, "You trust me right?" It was a simple question. His answer would determine what you would say next.

"Of course, why?" He says, still being unable to look you in the face right now.

"Well, then you can trust me to make the right decisions. I'm not saying that I was very fond of what I what I had seen that day, but it does clear up a lot knowing the reasoning behind your actions. I know a lot happened in your past Kakashi, it must have been so hard, and I am sorry. But it wasn't your fault for what happened, you don't have to carry those burdens that weigh you down so heavily alone. You can rely on people, you can rely on me. I promise you that I will be okay, so please don't think you are all alone in this." You finish your little speech and notice he is looking at you. It was an interesting look, he looked content.

At this point the waiter had walked by a few times waiting for us to finish talking. You were kind of embarrassed by this and had felt bad they had to wait so long.

As soon as he came back the two of you quickly ordered food.

The day had continued on and the sun was slowly setting. Not much was said while eating but it wasn't uncomfortable or anything, it was really relaxing.

You both had finished your food rather quickly and went to the counter to pay. Saying your thanks to the waiter, you and Kakashi begin to leave and head towards your homes.

He was obviously going to end up walking you home. The walk was silent, you both took in the scenery around you. The sun was almost fully set, the purple pink clouds still painting the orange sky. The shadows of houses and trees surrounding you beginning to morph and elongate. It was a pretty sight to take in, and Kakashi seemed to be enjoying it as much as you do.

A few minutes later you arrive on your doorstep, "Thanks for today Kakashi" You say with a small smile. He closes his eyes, indicating he was also smiling underneath his mask.

"Of course, (Y/N). Rest well, okay? You know where to find me if you need anything." He says as he notices a stray hair on your face and brushed it back to place with his hand. The action itself made you fluster. You nod, too embarrassed to do anything and he chuckles. Rubbing the back of your head you unlock your door and begin to step inside.

"Goodnight (Y/N)" He says with a little wave.

"Night, Kakashi, Thank you" You say, happiness overflowing your body.
