You woke up the next morning feeling horrible. Your throat was sore, and your nose was stuffy. On top of that you were extremely fatigued even though you had been asleep for almost 2 weeks.

Sitting up in your bed you look around to see Kakashi sitting in the seat next to your bed.

"Good morning (Y/N)" he says as he sets down the book he had left behind.

A little confused as to why he is here this early you wave at him and rub your eyes.

There was a weird feeling in your gut, you were becoming increasingly anxious at the thought of telling Kakashi what has been going on. You were considered a strong shinobi in Konoha, so it was a little weird for you to be scared of something like this. It was different this time though since it is your own brother that you are up against.

Kakashi sat there observing you, waiting to see if you would say anything. He had already picked up on the fact that something up on the fact that you had been hiding things, but right now he could tell it was really bothering you.

"Kakashi.?" You begin, a horrible feeling rises in your throat. It was a lie if you were to say you were not scared. It was obvious that Itachi and Kisame were strong and would have the upper hand on you given your current state. You really did not want to die, especially now that you have barely gotten your life back.

"Yes, (Y/N)?" He replies. You could feel that he knew something was off, but how would you go about telling him what has been going on. You have zero clue where Itachi or Kisame were or if they were listening to you right now.

"I, uhm, haven't been completely honest with you or the rest of Team 7. As much as I really dislike lying and hiding things from you, I am in the position of where I cannot share what has been happening. I honestly have no clue if they are listening nearby right now either and I am honestly horrified because they could kill me if I say anything more than this." You take a deep breath and hold it as you anxiously wait for any reaction from him.

He looks at you, "(Y/N), thank you for telling me. Are there any hints that you could give as to who these people are? They will not go without punishment." He sits at the corner of the hospital bed making sure he doesn't sit on any part of your body.

"Well, you for sure know at least one of them. You may know the other one because of the organization they are a part of." You didn't really know how to hint at them both without making extremely obvious, but if they were indeed eavesdropping on your conversation with Kakashi right now they would definitely know it is them I am talking about.

"Are you talking about Ita-" He starts, you quickly put a finger over his lips to shush him and nod your head slowly.

You look down, "I have no clue what to do Kakashi... I just got my life back, and even now it doesn't even feel like my life."

Feeling a hand gently lift up your chin, you see Kakashi, inches away from your face. He is beautiful. "(Y/N), it will be okay. I'll stay by your side and ensure your safety at all costs. I won't let anything bad happen to you." He talked to you with such sincerity rather than his normal apathetic tone of which he uses towards everyone that is not you. When he is with you, he is a completely different person. Which, as much as you will not admit it to yourself, you really enjoyed that he does this.

A few moments had gone by, and in that time, you completely forgot everything bad that has been happening to you. The coma, Itachi and Kisame wanting to kill you, finding out Itachi murdered the Uchiha's, being gone for over a decade, and every other bad thing that happened to you just for this man in front of you.

He scoots closer and his lips connect with yours. You were in shock but quickly melted into the kiss. His hand makes its' way onto your thigh. Your face began heating up from his touch.

After a long and passionate kiss, you both pull away for air. He cups your cheek in his hand and brushes a stray piece of hair off of your face and tucks it behind your ear.

Before you had known it however, both his hands were placed on your waist as he pulls you towards him. Your faces were mere inches from each other once more, but so was the rest of your bodies. The number of emotions and thoughts that were running through your head was causing your mind to go blank.

"(Y/N).." He starts as he gets closer and rests his forehead against yours.

"Yes, Kakashi?" Your insides were a mess as you were feeling things you have never really felt before.

"You know, when I had first heard you arrived back in Konoha, I had felt something I hadn't felt in a really long time. I know we never interacted much as kids as I am a few years older than you. But whenever we did, I was so happy." He smiles at you as he reminisces about our childhood.

"Don't tell me that the Copy Cat Ninja is getting sappy over a women? Me of all people as well" He chuckles and plants a small kiss and your lips.

"So what if I am?" He questions, his hands squeeze your waist gently, rocking them side to side slowly.

"I mean, I don't mind, I actually enjoy seeing this side of you." You smile at him.

"Well, I am glad to hear that (Y/N). But that leads me to ask. We still have yet to define our relationship, and again, we don't have to, but-" You cut him off with a kiss.

"If you're asking me to be your girlfriend, the answer is yes Kashi." His eyes seemed to light up as those words spilled from you mouth and he laughs.

The next few moments were filled with lots of kissing, and laughter. You felt as if you were slowly getting your life back despite all that has happened.

You hadn't been this happy in such a long time and it was like a breath of fresh air that you so desperately needed.

Kakashi had been beside you in your bed by this point while your head was gently resting on his chest as he read his book. He was not going to leave you alone anytime soon until he has at least ensured you were safe. He was relieved when you were finally able to open up to him, it was a sign that you had trusted him enough to do so. However, he did find this whole situation to be quite troublesome, he has no clue why Itachi is doing as much as going after (Y/N) when she was a sister to him, someone who cared and loved him deeply.

You were almost fast asleep on Kakashi, which was good since your doctor's had said that your body still needed rest and getting lots of sleep would be needed.

You did genuinely wonder what Kakashi would be planning now that you have told him. You were still actually quite nervous to see what will happen next now that someone knows what has been going on.

All you could really do was sit, wait, and hope things don't take a turn for the worst now that things seem to be going your way.
