𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐊𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢 x Reader || 𝑯𝒐𝒎𝒆

XVIII.

The sounds of birds chirping softly could be heard outside your tent. Blinking a little you stretch and sit up, taking in your surroundings. You were in a different place from what you last remembered. You and Kakashi were sitting with each other in front of the campfire conversing and sitting watch. You remember resting your head on him listening to his breathing. Maybe you had simply fell asleep on him and he carried you to your tent. It seemed most logical, although you do hope he didn't stay up and keep watch all night long.

You slowly get up, unzip your tent, and climb out the little opening.

To your surprise, Kakashi was up already, along with Naruto and Sakura, but no Sasuke.

Hm, he is usually always one of the first people up. You think to yourself.

Kakashi looks up from his porn book and smiles at me from under his mask. "Good morning, (Y/N). I hope you rested well." Naruto and Sakura look over almost immediately and smile.

"Good morning Mom-Sensei!" Naruto chirps, being called mom-sensei was definitely a surprise but it was extremely wholesome coming from Naruto.

"I presume I'm Mom-Sensei now?" You question, walking towards him ruffling his hair and brushing a piece of stray hair off Sakura's face.

"Better get used to it!" Naruto and Sakura say this time in unison, it was nice seeing the two not argue for once.

You turn to Kakashi, "Where's Sasuke?" You question.

"He is resting, he noticed you had fallen asleep and didn't want me keeping watch all night with no sleep, so he kept watch for about two hours or so." You kinda felt bad for falling asleep and causing Sasuke to have to do your job.

Heading over to his tent you unzip it's zipper and peep inside. He was sound asleep in his sleeping bag.

You gently nudge him, "Sasuke, it's time to wake up, we must depart soon." He turns a bit in his sleep, seemingly waking up. You gently nudge him again and he sits up rubbing his eyes.

"Good morning Sasuke" You say, he looks at you, a smirk appearing on his face.

"You fell asleep on Kakashi Sensei last night and he had to carry you off to bed so I offered to take your place."

Feeling your cheeks heat up you look away, "It's not like i was trying to fall asleep on him."

"Yeah, whatever you say," He rolls his eyes knowing you are in denial.

He quickly shoos you out of his tent so he could get ready and so you make your way back to the group. They had already finished packing up the little campsite aside from Sasuke's tent.

Once everyone was completely ready you all quickly took off to Kumogakure.

The trip there was quite boring and you all had traveled in mostly silence in order to not get yourselves distracted.

It was a long and boring trip to the land hidden by clouds. And all of you had slowly become increasingly tired.

You were quite drained. Naruto was complaining that he ran out of water, so you gave him the rest of yours. Probably a bad idea, but you enjoy putting your students ahead of yourself.

However, after many many miles, you finally could see Kumogakure coming up in the distance.

After arriving at it's outskirts there were a few of Kumogakure's shinobi standing guard. Behind them was a man and a frail woman next to him. You had assumed that it was the prince and his retinue.

"You must be the shinobi of the leaf, here to escort Prince Ankoku and his retinue?" One of the shinobi asks.

"Yes, we are team 7 from the leaf. I am Hatake Kakashi and this is (Y/N) Uchiha" The men scan us and look between one another, giving us a nod.

They begin to make way for Prince Ankoku and his retinue, Meiko.

Meiko had stepped out before the prince. She was a thin and frail girl. Around your age or so. She had short brown hair and the prettiest blue eyes. Maybe even prettier than Naruto's. She wore a casual Kimono and kept her face buried in a pile of papers not paying any of Team 7 any mind.

Just behind her Prince Ankoku comes into view.

He was a tall, lanky man. Probably older that you. He had green eyes and medium grey hair that was messily done. He had surprisingly wore casual attire. It was not something you would have expected from royalty.

Kakashi and you both share a glance as they walk towards you.

"You must be-" The prince starts as Meiko cuts him off.

"You must be Team 7, a pleasure. Now please take us to our destination. From what I understand you are very capable of getting us there safely and soundly even considering your team is full of babies." She speaks while the prince just sighs and shakes his head.

Another glance was shared between you and Kakashi as you look over at the kids, especially Naruto, hinting for them to just leave it be.

"Don't mind Meiko, she is a little..." He sighs yet continues, "Anyways, I specifically requested team 7 actually. I've heard a lot about you guys, especially you (Y/N) Uchiha.." His gaze burns right through you.

"Oh, uhm, thank you?" You questioned, feeling quite awkward.

"And you, Kakashi Hatake." He walks over leaning against Kakashi. You could tell even the copy cat ninja was feeling quite weirded out by the Prince.

Kakashi clears his throat and removes himself from the prince and announces our departure.

From there you began your journey towards sunagakure.
