"I-I'm sorry, I didn't know. I swear it was an accident." You try to reason with Ayla but she isn't backing down as she readies her fist and launches it at you. You quickly shut your eyes expecting the impact of it but feel it wisk by the side of your face as the wall next to your face is damaged. You looked at her and she was steaming with anger.
"How did you kill her?" Ayla says her eyes darkening as they stare into yours. Her arms are not moving and leaving you in pace against the wall.
"Strangulation, It was a hand to hand combat fight and I didn't know it was her and strangled her to deat-" Your words are cut as you feel hands wrap around your throat against the wall. Ayla started strangling you.
"It's only right for you to meet the same fate as her. Maybe something even worst be happy I'm giving you mercy by just strangling you." Ayla says as her grip gets tighter. At first you were going to fight back but stop. Maybe she was right, maybe you deserve this, heck maybe something even worse for killing Angelica. You accept your fate as you slowly start to feel yourself slip in and out of consciousness. Your lungs are begging for air.
While slipping in and out of consciousness you feel Ayla's grip loosen as she falls to the ground unconscious instead. It caught you off guard since you were the one getting strangled but you look at her passed out body. Directly across the room from the two of you was Joseph holding a gun, though it was one of the guns that held bliss bullets. He must have shot Ayla.
"Why did you stop her, should have had her kill (y/n) for not fighting back." Jacob says with an irritated look on his face. He seemed pissed off at you. For no reason you would know of.
"Jacob she's still a valuable asset, god's voice tells me she'll be the reason we all make it past the collapse and to Eden's Gates." Joseph says handing the bliss gun back to John who puts it away. You had no idea what Joseph was talking about but you stayed standing there. Jacob sighs out loud before standing up and marching towards you grabbing ahold of your arm aggressively, slightly hurting you.
"Jacob, where are you going?" John asks, sounding annoyed. Jacob ignores his little brother before dragging you out of the room with him. He marches down the hall bringing you with him. Jacob didn't say anything as he dragged you down but his grip was starting to hurt you. Jacob comes to a stop in the hallway.
"What was that?" Jacob says to you as he shoves you into the wall behind you. You look down not wanting to recollect the moments when Ayla was angry at you. This was the first time in your life Ayla was this angry. Jacob grabs your chin though making you face up at him.
"I won't ask again, what was that?!" Jacob was getting more aggressive with you. You start to tear up the only thoughts on your mind was how your relationship with your friends will never be the same.
"Stop crying and answer me!" Jacob shoves you against the wall again. You lock eyes with him. "Ever since you killed Angelica it's like it completely changed you, you went from a strong willed person to a weakling who cries for no reason." The way Jacob said that seemed to get to you. Snap something out of you, make you think for a bit.
Were you really the one who killed Angelica, or was that Jacob's plan from the beginning. Did he think you killing Angelica would make you help him? He wasn't completely wrong, look at you now. You felt ashamed that you fell for it, thinking it was all your fault that she died. Little did you know that he was behind it. It would make sense, you didn't kill her his trials did. Why would they all lead up to that moment if not for the purpose of setting you up. Was Angelica ever truly there, or did he command her to act like that so you fall for it.
"Are you even listening to me!?" Jacob shouts in your ear. Snapping you out of your thoughts. Maybe it wasn't too late, maybe this was a good thing. Maybe you could use this to your advantage. You nod at him.
"I-i'm sorry, I'll be stronger I swear. I just, it was a lot to deal with." You say bringing your hands to his that were tightly holding the collar of your shirt trying to push him back. "Just give me another chance."
"Do I look like someone who gives chances? Prove to me why I should." Jacob says as he throws you down to the ground. You were caught off guard but as you look up at Jacob you see him pull out a knife. Your eyes widen before you quickly recover from the fall and get back up to your feet. Jacob gives you barely enough time to prepare as he charges towards you knife in hand and swings trying to aim for your face. You dodge almost getting scratched by the knife.
"Disarm me, take my knife away from me. Prove to me why I should keep you around." Jacob says, preparing for another swing. You look around yourself trying to find any way of defense, to your non-existent luck it seems the hallway he took you to was empty. How else were you going to get his trust back if you couldn't do as he said?
He goes in for another swing and you dodge it with ease this time quickly going for the knife in his hand while he completes his swing. Seems he knew your tactic and moved his arm away from your hand that went in to snatch the knife. You shouldn't expect any less from him. He was a soldier in the army and he was training tons of soldiers for the cult. He knows what he's doing.
"That's all you got, pathetic." Jacob says. You knew you couldn't charge at him and wrestle him for the knife he would win in an instant with pure strength alone. You had to find something to catch him off guard. An idea pops into your head. He charges at you and swings once again and you dodge with ease once more. Then you run off into a different direction getting a good head start.
"Really? Running won't do you any good." Jacob says as you start to hear his boots pounding on the ground. You turn a corner and enter a nearby empty room and quickly take off your pants, the gray joggers he had lent you. They seemed long enough to act as a rope, his boxers that he had lent to you were big enough to serve as shorts so you weren't as embarrassed taking your pants off.
You wait behind the door patiently and quietly hearing his footsteps coming near. As soon as he enters the room and closes the door without checking behind himself, that's when you move in and wrap the pants around his neck tightly so his airways are blocked. He struggles under the sudden surprise attack flailing his knife around trying to cut you or the pants. You swing your closest leg to the hand that had the knife around and step on his hand causing him to drop the knife and you kick it away. A good enough distance before letting go of the pants around his neck and rushing to the knife diving for it and grabbing it off the ground.
"I got the knife." You say holding it in the air as you stand. Jacob was still huffing on the ground from the recent strangulation. He looks at realizing you had no pants on and that was the weapon you yielded for your attack. You walk towards him and he watches you. You hold the knife out to him. He gives you a confused look.
"That was the mission right? Get the knife from you? To prove why you should still keep me around?" You say to him, he nods realizing that you weren't going to kill him with it despite having the perfect opportunity. He holds out his hand and you put the knife in it.
"I gotta say I'm impressed, I wasn't expecting that from you that's for sure." Jacob admits rubbing his neck. "Using your pants as a weapon definitely brings using anything around you to a new meaning." Jacob stands up and hands you back your pants. "Wouldn't want anyone thinking something else went down here." You nod, grabbing ahold of them.
Seems once again luck was not on your side as the two of you exit the room you hear footsteps coming from around the corner. John rounds the corner catching a sight of you with no pants on and just Jacob's boxers and Jacob. He furrowed his eyebrows and a stern look on his face. He avoids either of your stares.
"What were you two doing?" John asks, he definitely had his own ideas on what was going on. "Imagine if Joseph saw you two doing stuff lik-"
"Don't worry Johnny boy, we weren't doing anything weird like that. I was testing her strength by swinging my blade at her and she used her pants to strangle me." Jacob explains calmly not really finding anything wrong with what he just said. "Though you can admit my boxers make her look good." You definitely didn't expect a comment like that from Jacob. Seems neither did John.
"Whatever just went looking for you two cause I was going to tell you guys that the meeting ended and you two can go home now." John says, he walks up to you. His eyes lingers to your legs before going back up to your eyes. Before John could get any closer Jacob steps in front of him. John looks up at his brother.
"Something you need brother?" Jacob asks, his arms folded in front of his chest. You look behind Jacob and stare at John. John locks eyes with you staring at you for a while. John mouths something towards you, something along the lines of "Are you okay?" You nod absentmindedly John's eyes widen from your reply. Jacob clears his throat getting John's attention again.
"No, just wondering if she's really there." John says you look away before looking back at the two. John's lips twist into a light smirk, his eyes locking with yours before returning to his brother's gaze. John starts walking away, you sigh watching John turn the corner and disappear from your sights.
You took this time to put on the joggers before someone else turned that corner. Lucky for you both you two didn't bump into anyone else. Jacob and you both walked back to the car that brought you both here silence during the whole walk which continued to the car.
"What you did today was impressive." Jacob breaks the silence with his words. You look at him before looking back out the window of the car. "I need more of that from you then whatever yesterday and earlier today was, you got that?"
"Yes, sir." You say, this was exactly what you wanted, from him to slowly start to see you as an asset and to make sure he can trust you. You were going to trick him like you did John. Jacob wouldn't even see it coming. Or at least you hoped he wouldn't. You just had to play with this charade for a little longer.
