Chapter 27: Mr. Lover Boy

A couple of days pass. Jacob would go through stages in the day, he would praise you on one hand and threaten you on the other. It was conflicting to say the least but you just learned to ignore it. Just like you had estimated five days, Rook was going for John's throat today you could tell because through the broadcast. After hearing about John stealing Rook's friend in Falls End. Rook started ranting to Dutch about how this time they will finish off John. To your horror they describe in graphic detail how they plan on killing John. No doubt today was John's last chance.

You were ready to leave the bunker. The only thing you needed was a hint on where John would flee to when Rook got the upper hand. You knew Rook would get the upper hand because she was a killing machine. The resistance and her combined they come up with pretty good tactics. Her in specific was good at what she was doing despite being a so called Rookie.

"He's fleeing to his ranch to get a plane to fly to his bunker!" You hear a voice say through the coms. "Rook you gotta stop him!"

"I'm on it. I'll take him down when he's on a plane. I just need someone to get me a plane for myself." You hear Rook say back through the radio. You stand up, map in hand and start rushing out of the bunker. Leaving and locking it. Once out you do the same tactic you had done before. Following the tree lines near the road camouflaging in the shadows.

Once at John's ranch you had to take your time. Seems some of his men were still guarding him. He was about to get into the plane too. You aim your pistol first at him and shoot him, he falls to the ground. You then aim it at the three other men who seemed to not notice their leader is down. You rush up to John and take the very same car his men drove, stuffing him somewhere in the backseats and driving off referencing your map and hoping nobody would notice a thing. The only tough part was getting the key to Rook. That was going to be your struggle.

You keep a close eye on Rook's plane in the sky. Seems she was flying around for a bit before she realized John was not there. You watch as her plane circles around John's bunker ready to land. This was perfect. You quickly drive there and hide the car. You get out and you watch as the Rook looks around. You pray to god you have a good throwing arm and swing it a little before launching it in her direction. Maybe your aim was a little too good because it hit her in the side of the head causing her to quickly turn her head before spotting the key on the ground. She grabs it and looks around before rushing off into the bunker.

You sigh in relief before rushing back to the car and following one of your perfectly planned routes back to the bunker. Once there you open the bunker and drag John in.

"You got John?" Jacob says, watching as you drag John to his room. "He's gonna get the same treatment as me?" You nod propping John onto the chair before grabbing the rope and securing it around him.

"Of course, I'm not one to pick favorites." You say observing your work before rushing out. "I'll be right back." You quickly discard the car the same way you did with the other one before going back into the bunker.

"You were taking a while. I thought you got shot or was too late." Jacob voices his concerns to you. Seems he was worried that you wouldn't make it to his brother on time. But this was you, actually now that you think about it, it makes sense he would be worried. It was you. But you were well planned enough to your own surprise so make it on time and disguise it as Rook killing him. You shake your head.

"I had to give Rook the key to his bunker so she could destroy it. It makes it so that the resistance believes she killed John along with it. Rook is a very prideful person." You say now going back to laying on the couch. "Two down, one more to go." Faith would either be the hardest or the easiest based on bliss alone.

"Would you look at that?" You hear John's voice and you turn to see him. Seems he also rolled himself out of his room similar to Jacob. "Oh how the tables have turned." John had a smirk on his face.
