song recommendation: super power (Beyoncé ft Franck Ocean)
JK POV:
The light was bright. Almost too bright.
My eyes opened slowly trying to adjust to the light.
I was in a room. Everything was white. Was I...dead?
Slowly but surely I turned my head and saw medical
equipment. A large monitor with a bunch of wires and tubes coming out of it. I followed the clear tube and saw it was connected to my right hand. I was at a hospital. At least I knew for sure now that I wasn't dead.
I looked to my left and saw the door. I wanted to get out of here. I had a discomfort being here. Even though I was in a hospital suite, with what I assumed to be given to be with the best money can buy, I felt confined.
I squirmed around in the bed, feeling something poking my sides. It was a red button. I had no idea of its functionality but I pressed it just for fun.
Nothing happened. Well that was a waste. I turned on the tv and started watching cartoons. This was so boring.
A knock on the door interrupted my entertainment.
Before I could say "come in" and beautiful woman walked in with a clipboard.
"What seems to be the problem Mr. Jeon?" her voice was light and dainty. She had her beautiful brown hair cut shortly, but it was pulled back in a very neat ponytail. Her scrubs were a dark blue, almost like sapphire, and she had on a pair of black shoes to finish off her look.
"I want to leave," I told her my dilemma with no problem.
"I understand your frustration Mr. Jeon. We need to run some more tests, you experienced something extremely crucial to your body, that most people don't survive. You need time to recover, and we need time to deem you healthy to continue your life again," What was she saying?
"I'm sorry? What exactly happened to me?" I was actually confused and my heart started to race.
"You had an acute heart attack, in the early hours of this morning. Thankfully, due to the wonderful doctors we have here, you survived. This is a very good thing Mr. Jeon, you should feel very thankful," Thankful?! I almost died before graduating high school because of my weak ass health. What do I have to be thankful for?
"Is there I chance I will die when I'm discharged?"
"Mr. Jeon. Try not to think about that. It was caused by your body temperature dropping so low and an irregular heartbeat from the alcoholic poisoning you endured. In my expertise, keep in mind I am nothing but a simple nurse, your heart attack was not caused by an underlying heart condition, so your chances of survival are higher than others,"
"My chances are higher but I can still die, is what your saying?"
"Your boyfriend is paying for the most well respected medical care we have to offer here. I promise you're in great hands," her voice was sweet, I could tell she was the person who calmed the most nervous patients.
"Boyfriend?" I didn't have a boyfriend. I had a girlfriend. I wish I had a boyfriend though.
"Yes. He was with you the entire time up until we had to remove him when your heart started to fail. He is actually still here, along with two other boys, shall I call him back here, and let him know you're awake?"
"That would be nice," I knew then she was talking about Tae, he was probably with jimin. The other guy, I didn't know who it could be.
"Okay I will do that. Anything else Mr. Jeon?" She was reorganizing things that were already in perfect condition.
"No thank you,"
"Very well. I will be back with Mr. Kim shortly,"
My heart raced. Not sure if it was an upcoming heart attack or if it was because I was nervous that I was about to see Tae. My mind was a little hazy from last night but I do know that I for sure embarrassed myself and probably pissed Taehyung off.
