Opening 2
.
The trio of Lucius, Zhongli and Paimon approach a merchant's stall on the docks of Liyue Harbor, with Lucius suddenly remembering this merchant.
Lucius: Hello again.
Bolai: Oh! We've met before, haven't we? You must be the Traveller I talked just before the Rite of Descension.
Lucius: Yep, that's me.
Bolai: I see, I see, nice to see you well. Now then, what can I do for you?
Lucius: We're looking for Silk Flowers.
Bolai: Silk Flowers? We certainly do! Which kind would you like?
Lucius immediately turns to Zhongli.
Lucius: Alright, expert Zhongli. You're up.
Zhongli: Hoh? Not even gonna attempt to try and list the kinds?
Lucius: Nope, I know I'm probably gonna embarrass myself.
Zhongli: Heh, very well then. Golden House Maiden, Valley Weaver, and Fate's Yearning. One of each to start with, if you don't mind.
Bolai: My goodness, quite the connoisseur.
Lucius: Yeah, we definitely would've embarrassed ourselves, Paimon.
Paimon: Agreed.
Zhongli: Nothing wrong with trying, Lucius. But anyways, Silk Flowers exhibit different properties based on how their environmental conditions differ from their ancestral habitat... Nevertheless, these are fine specimens. Excellently preserved.
Zhongli motions to a set of pink flowers with red petals like a spider lily, with this particular ones having a blueish tint near the end of the petals.
Zhongli: Just look at the abundant foliage here. And these stamens, glamorous as a maiden of the Golden House. This strain is an evergreen, and mostly grows under complex hydrological conditions.
He then points to a similar specifies, but having more petals and packed stamen, but still retaining its pink and red colour.
Zhongli: By contrast, this variety thrives in any dark, damp location, often in large clusters. Morphologically, it is distinguished by the profusion of petals and densely packed stamens, though its powerful scent gives it away just as easily.
Then lastly, he points to a smaller version of the flower, with the flower being paler in comparison.
Zhongli: Lastly, this strain is quite the recluse. Unlike its exuberant cousins, flowers and foliage are minimal, and when in season, it has a subtle yet enduring scent. It was first discovered by the ancients when they scaled the mountains in search of the adepti.
Zhongli: Silk Flowers have all but disappeared from the wild today, due to geographical changes over Liyue's history. Most are now grown by horticulturalists.
Bolai: Wow. A true connoisseur. Most of that was news even to me!
Zhongli: I possess but a smattering of trivial knowledge. My traveler friend is the one to watch — they are on track to set foot in every corner of the world.
He gestures to Lucius who scratches his head.
Lucius: I don't see what's so impressive about that. But anyways, which Silk Flower are we getting?
