Two days have passed since Lucius and Ayaka's date, as another day graces the Nation of Eternity.
The travelling pair are heading towards Komore Teahouse, before they notice something rather peculiar.
Lucius: The city is rather empty for this time of the day...
Paimon: Yeah, and it's so cloudy as well. Is there something we're missing?
Lucius just shrugs, unable to answer her question.
Lucius: Let's just head to Komore Teahouse.

The two enter the teahouse and see Taroumaru in his usual spot.
Paimon: How strange... It's never this quiet here.
Taroumaru: Woof, woof... woof!
Paimon: Thoma's playing his ventriloquist game again, huh?
Lucius: ...
Paimon: Thoma... Thoma...
She calls out, trying to find him.
Taroumaru: Woof! Woof! ...Woof!
Paimon: Hey, you can come out now... Paimon's seen you already...
Taroumaru: Woof, woof, woof! Woof!
Paimon: Huh? What's got Taroumaru so worked up today? He's always such a good boy...

The door opens behind them as they around and see Ayaka running to them, distress all over her face, almost on the verge of tears.
Ayaka: Lucius, Paimon, have either of you seen Thoma?
Lucius: No, we haven't. Did something happen?
Ayaka: Then it as I feared... On the way here, I heard that Thoma had been taken away by the Tenryou Commission.
Lucius: ...!
Ayaka: I wasn't certain whether it was true, so I came right here. The fact that he hasn't arrived here as we arranged suggests that it is true. The Raiden Shogun is holding a Vision Hunt Ceremony at the Statue of the Omnipresent God today, to mark the 100th Vision seized under the decree.
Ayaka: And the 100th Vision bearer in question... the one who will have their Vision seized, I fear... is Thoma.
Tears dropped down her face as Lucius quickly wipes them away. She presses his face onto his chest, still crying, as Lucius wraps his arms around her.
Lucius: Fuck...
Lucius curses, unable to find the words to comfort her.
Paimon: Hold up a second... So the ceremony that Thoma said the Tenryou Commission was busy preparing for... that was this Vision Hunt Ceremony? And he was the target all along?
Ayaka: I believe so. The shogun and the Tenryou Commission see the ceremony as a milestone. With the 100th Vision, they wish to mark the success of the Vision Hunt Decree to date.
Ayaka: This cannot happen. I must go and rescue him!
Lucius: No! You can't! With the position you hold, if you get compromised, who knows what will happen to you!
