The Cuddle Pact with Eddie Munson

The next morning.........

Luci's alarm goes off, a groan coming from Eddie which surprises her. Luci wakes up and feels something on her butt.
Oh.

Luci feels embrassed by it tries to clear her throat, stretching out and yawning.

"I'm sorry it's morning," he said embarrassingly, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"It's okay," she said reassuring.

"Did you sleep okay?"

"Sorta."

"How come?"

"Eh, well I just usually take off my shirt when I sleep,so.."

"You should if it's how you sleep."

"I just thought-"

"It's okay, that's how you sleep, you should sleep however you want."

Eddie nods his head understanding what she said.
"I'll see you later then," he said walking to the window.

"Wait, you can go through the front door."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, my mom is already at work and Dustin doesn't wake until 15 after."

They walk out of her room and down the hall towards the door.
"I'll see ya," he says.

"See ya,"she said.

"Wait, you practice again today?"

"No you work?"

"Yeah, I might work late."

"I'll leave my window opened slightly so you can go in."
Eddie nods his head, " Okay I'll see you at third."

"Ditto."

Luci closes the door,she walks back to her room and gets dressed. She walks into the school seeing Robin leaning on her locker, picking at her nail polish. Luci greets her and she does the same, they both walk around until the bell rang for first period. First period took forever to start and end. Luci couldn't wait for school to end, she actually liked work her boss wasn't an asshole. Benny is really cool, he lets Dustin and Mike hangout there while she worked. Benny understood their family dynamic, having a single working mom, a working sibling. Growing up it was same for him. He may look tough but is a sweetheart. The only thing that sucks is that his kid is Jason Carver. Luci sees him almost on a daily basis. He mostly asks his dad for money. He doesn't even say Hi dad, or how's your day?Nope, just I need 20 dollars for a date with whatever girl he's going out with. Benny wishes that his son is more like Luci; good head on her shoulders, ambitious but not too much, great grades, humble, and kind. He knows his son is an asshole, he doesn't even know why his son is like that.

Luci is very bored at the diner, Mondays are the slowest days. There's about four people, she's been refilling their coffee mugs, and nibbles here and there on her plate of French fries that Benny cooked for her. The bell rings signaling her another customer is here, it was Mr, Wheeler.
"Hi Mr. Wheeler what can I get for you?"

"Hi Luci, how are you?"

"I'm good thanks."

"May I get 4 burgers and JR burger with fries?"

"Okay, this is to-go right?"

"Yes."

"I'll let him know it might be a while."

"That's okay, do you mind a cup of joe?"

"No problem, Mr. Wheeler."

Luci gives the order to Benny and she pours coffee for Mr. Wheeler.

"How's Mike been? Lately I haven't been able to talk to him since that club he's in."

"He's been good, the club is called Hellfire. It's a D&D club.

"Hellfire? What kind of name is that?"

Luci chuckles,  "It's from the X-Men comics."

"Oh like Archie?"

"Sorta."

He nods his head as he drinks from the mug.
Luci gives Mr. Wheeler his order, he pays but leaves her a 20 dollar tip.

"Mr. Wheeler, you overpaid," she said walking over to him.

"No I didn't, you help me learn more about my son."

"You didn't needed to pay me."

" I wanted to, and thank you" he said walking out from the diner.

Luci drives home, she walks straight into her room, got startled when she saw Eddie in her room, listening to music on her Walkman. He takes off her headphones,
"Sorry, I got bored."

"It's cool, I was surprised that's all."

He nods his head and scoots over so she can sit.

"I'm going to take a shower, to get diner off of me.

Eddie laughs, "Okay, alright" he said as he returns the headphones back onto his ears. Luci gets done with her shower, they get into bed and Eddie speaks up, " Your music taste continues to surprise me."

"How so?" She questions.

"I mean, you like rock, then this mixtape I listened to, had from R&B, pop, and rock. You like the Cure and Billy Idol and even Billy Ocean."

Luci turns to face him, "Wait you know Billy Ocean?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm surprised too."

Eddie gives her a look, "I don't always listen to rock all the time Luci."

"I like his songs."

They talk about their favorite artists for most of the night, until they both passed out. The lingering scent of coconut and vanilla sends Eddie to a deep sleep.
