The Cuddle Pact with Eddie Munson

Since it was Friday the last day before Christmas break. And of course the day lagged ALL day long. Luci kept looking at her watch and the classroom's clock to make sure the time was right. This week was the busiest for Luci at the diner, lots of people from out of town, visiting families at Hawkins including Benny's family.

"Alright that concludes today!"
"Have a fun break!" Mrs.Vernon says excusing the class early.

"Miss Henderson, I can speak to you for a moment?"

Once everyone left, Luci came up to Mrs.Vernon's desk.

"Yes?" Luci questions.

"You happen to know Eddie Munson right?"

"Yeah."

"Well his grades have been barely passing and I was wondering if you would tutor him."

"All of his teachers had a meeting yesterday with him and he suggested to us that you would be a good candidate to tutor him. Which we all agreed that you are."

"He did?"

"Yeah, smart boy. Your grades are fantastic."

"This can be extra credit for you," Mrs. Vernon suggested.

"No, that's not necessary, I'll do it."

"Thank you, Miss. Henderson! Now go and enjoy your break!"

Luci thanks her, she leaves the classroom and walks to her Jeep with Robin waiting for her. Luci starts to drive away from the school, Robin speaks up.

"What did Mrs.Vernon want?"

"She wants me to tutor Eddie."

"Really?"

"Get this, they had a meeting yesterday about his grades and he suggested to them that I tutor him.And they agreed to it."

Robin laughs loudly, "No shit?"

"Yeah."

"What did you say?"

"I said I'll do it."

"You got this cuddle pact AND tutoring?"

Luci hummed in agreement. Robin chuckles, "You gotta give him props for it, oh man he's good."

Luci drops off Robin first and goes home and quickly gets dressed and drives to Benny's. Time flew by very fast, considering it was her, Benny and another coworker. The diner was packed, and more people came in once it was full. Luci was exhausted, all she wanted to was to shower and sleep. Once her shift was over 10:25 as she looked at her watch when she came in her house. She sees Eddie reading her book.
"Hope you don't mind," he said gesturing to the book.

"Not at all, I'm going to take a shower," she said tiredly.

Eddie nods his head, and goes back to the book to finish the chapter he was reading. Luci finished her shower, she watches Eddie intently reading her book for a moment. She walks over to her bed, sitting across from him, "How's the book so far?"

"It's really good, I never thought I would be interested in books," he laughs.

"It takes one author and you're hooked. Stephen King is the best."

"He is."

"You have any more books of him?"

"I have a bunch!" She says getting up and he follows her to her book shelf.

"Wow, you have all of them?"

"Most of them, I tried to find Pet Semetery but I couldn't find it." 

"What about this one?" He points to The Shining.

"That's a good one! It about this guy who's a writer but takes a job at hotel in Colorado. So him and his family stay there. I shouldn't say anymore, I don't want to spoil it."

"Can I borrow it?"

Luci nods her head, "Of  course."

"Um, Mrs. Vernon talked me about tutoring you after break."

"Yeah, there was a meeting with my teachers about my grades."

"That you suggested me to tutor you."

"She told you that? I asked them not to tell you," he groans.

"It's okay, really. That means you don't have to sneak through my window," she jokes.

"You agreed to it?"

"Yeah?"
He shakes his head, "Lets go to sleep."
Eddie thought she wouldn't agree to it because of her job. And they'll be seen each in public, he doesn't want her to label as a freak or anything. They had enough looks from last two encounters they had in school, Luci didn't seem to notice but Eddie did.
