Seokjin's Pov:
******
I'm surprised that Jungkook wanted to buy a mall. I'm so glad he wants to do something like that for me and thinks I could run a mall. Well, it would have to be us because he wouldn't expect me to own it on my own. I don't understand why he just told me this. I can't go to sleep.
In a normal situation, when he gets out of bed to go to his office, I would be irate, but I can't bring myself to concentrate on that right now. I had gotten out of bed and was surfing the web for information on how to start a business. I have never had anything that resembles what he was talking about before. I've never even had a real job; my sole responsibility in this life has been to make sure I look good and am always by my husband's side, both of which I've done very well at, even in my marriage to Yoongi.
I'm curious whether or not he was aware of the enormous responsibility of owning a shopping mall. I can't fathom how he could ever believe I would be capable of anything like this. Given his level of expertise, I have no idea if it would succeed or fail. If that's something he wants me to do, it sounds like a lot of effort; I believe we would have to plan it out extremely carefully if he wants me to do it.
Because I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep until I knew more about this and what he thought I could do, I closed my laptop and left our room to go to his office. It was so out of the blue I have no clue where he got the idea. The last thing I need is to take the rap for any failed business.
Looking at his work ethic, I can see that achieving goals is very important; yet, what if this venture fails? I wouldn't want that, and I don't want him to think I am not serious, especially if he thinks I am capable of managing it.
When I arrived downstairs at Jungkook's office, the door was closed, and I could hear some chatting from the outside. This caused me to frown since I couldn't help but wonder who he could conceivably be talking to at one in the morning. I didn't bother to knock and just pushed the door open instead. As soon as our eyes met, he stopped me from saying anything by putting his palm up.
"Who exactly are you speaking with?" It was too late for me to care, and I needed answers.
The muscles in his jaw tensed, and he looked away from me and then at the screen on his computer. "I have to go; let's discuss this again later."
As he gazed at me from the other side of the room, he clicked away at his computer before taking out the earbuds. "Seokjin, that was rude. I was on an important call. Is there something wrong?"
"Sorry, I didn't think you would be on a call this late. Is that something you do a lot for work?"
As he rose and approached me, he said, "I manage a multinational firm with employees who work in various time zones in different areas of the globe. Although it is late here, for others, it is early. This is how I interact with most of my company's top executives. What exactly is it? Why are you not asleep? I thought you were exhausted, so why are you down here? I don't particularly appreciate being interrupted when I'm working. Did you come here to ask for anything, or were you trying to annoy me?"
Wow.
"I didn't come here for anything that would be worth interrupting the job you're doing. Continue your work as usual. Also, I want you to know that you are no longer obligated to remain at home with me. Go back to work and travel as much as you want to. I am going back to bed; good night."
"Seokjin, I absolutely will not stand for it if you portray me as the villain in this situation. I have given up on my duties to spend the last two months at home with you. I believe I have been a good husband. Do you know how many different things have occurred at my company over the last two months? Things I have not been able to deal with in the way that I would have preferred? Do you care about any of those things, or does it not matter to you?"
