Another milestone I can add to my life right about now. High school... I'm just going to be completely honest here and say that high school is nothing but a train wreck. I mean, really? Best year of my life? No way that's true.
I sighed and stared at the bacon and eggs on my plate. Supposed to be a smiley face. How is that supposed to help? My dad walked into the kitchen and sat down across from me. Mom came with a plate for him and kissed him on the cheek.
"Katsuki, please finish up your food. You're going to be late. And I better not hear from the school again about skipping class!"
Rolling my eyes at her, I took a couple pieces of bacon and left the table. I put my backpack over my shoulders and used my free hand to turn the door knob. Another door from next door slammed shut, and I turned my gaze to see Deku with some toast in his hand.
His eyes gleamed at me as he saw me and waved in an energetic manner. I softly smiled as I kept looking at him and went down the stairs of the front porch.
I waited by the mailbox and he joined me. We then walked together to the bus stop. My hand held out the pieces of bacon in front of him. He looked up at me. "Are you wanting to trade?"
"Well, knowing you, you only eat toast for breakfast, so yes. Eat up and give me the toast," my hand waved the bacon around and Deku handed me his piece of toast while using his free hand to grab the bacon out of my hand.
"Thank you, Kacchan," he said before taking a bite out of the two pieces of bacon. After eating one of the bacon, he broke one in half and held out one half of it to me. "Here. You can have the other half of the bacon."
I used my free hand and ate the toast first. "So, how are classes so far?"
He shrugged his shoulders at me, "I don't know. I mean, all I care about is just finishing up the assignments. First finish work, then have fun."
"Like that's any fun," I replied and finished off my toast and then went to the bacon. Pink cheeks was scrolling on her phone as she waited for the bus to stop by. "Bus not here yet?"
She shook her head and stuffed her phone in her pocket, "Nope and I was hoping you'd miss the bus."
"Salty as ever I see."
Pink cheeks grinned and hummed, "You think? Wow, and yet here you are calling me something based on my facial features. To think you know my name by now."
"I maybe know your name already. I just don't really care." Heh. It's true. I really could care less and give them a nickname instead.
The bus finally arrived and when we got to our seats, I noticed that almost all the seats were taken by extras. Go figure. Though, the only seats that were available were at the very back. Deku was in front of us and he instantly rushed up to the back seat. Pink cheeks sat next to a friend. As for me, I was still standing in the middle of the lane. My eyes wandered over to him and I saw that he got his headphones out.
There's really no one else I want to sit next to. I mean, sure I have friends on the bus, but they're already sitting next to someone. Welp, I can't stand around, might as well sit with him. I walked up to where he was sitting and sat down next to him. He scanned over the crowd and sighed.
Putting his headphones over his head, he scrolled on his phone. "Hello, Kacchan. Wake me up when we get to school, please." He leaned against the window seat and drifted off to sleep.
Has he stayed up all night reading again? Hold on. From the position he's in, it looks uncomfortable. I pulled him aside and let him rest straight up. But that failed and he fell on my lap. Oh, come on! I want to scream right now...
