Well, at least I don't have to worry about Bakugo as the love interest. It's probably for the best anyway.
But now, we have to start a lot of things over because of a new cast member, and now I'm here sitting in the audience while the stage crew figure out the plans. It'll probably take like a week or less to get it done, so I might as well enjoy this little break while I can.
I heard a thud next to me and I find Iida sitting down at a seat beside me while fidgeting with his hands.
I leaned forward to get a good look at him, "Uh, what are you doing?"
"I just got back from fitting for my costumes and it was a nightmare," he replied. Oh, yeah. That explains a lot.
"That's what happens when one of the actors bails on the show," I muttered.
"But, why couldn't Bakugo do this? Is he not a good actor?"
"Eh," I raised my hand horizontally and moved it in the middle, "He's okay, for the first time acting, he just really didn't like the part he was given to." Putting my hand down back on my lap.
"Still want to know why he had to quit," Iida said.
"Oh! He got in trouble with the law and had to do community service for it, so the teachers had to recast and here we are," I rambled.
"I'm not even going to ask how."
"Trust me, you don't even want to know."
...
...
...
"So... did you tell your friends about you know what?" Iida inquired.
I was a little confused, until I remembered, "Yeah, I told them."
"And... how did they take it?"
"They took it well. Everything is all good." I gave him a thumbs up and a smile.
Then we were back in silence again. Man, why does this have to be awkward whenever we talk? If we don't at least get along, it's going to look really bad for the play. I don't even know if he can act. I really hope the teachers know what they're doing...
I see the twin teachers burst open the door and enter the theater with sunglasses on. The brother carried a cassette player on his shoulder, pressing play and walked down with some pump rock music.
"Holy shit..." I uttered, watching them strut down the auditorium. I chuckled at their antics.
Iida tapped on my shoulder, "Is this going to be a daily occurrence or something?"
I slowly shook my head, "I hope not. This is new to me too."
"I'm starting to think I've joined a cult," he questioned himself.
The theater teachers made their way up the stage, he pressed a button again, making the music stop. The other theater teacher stepped forward and slowly clapped her hands together. Oh... now I remember why they don't do stuff like this.
"Students, I'd like to say that even though we lost a cast member, for personal reasons," the teacher mumbled that part out. "But I'd like for us to give a warm welcome to Tenya Iida! Our new Dimitri!"
Everyone's eyes were all on Iida. He waved his hand nervously, "Hey."
"Anywho! The Quinn teachers are going to work our way around this little issue! Uraraka, since most of the scenes are going to be with him, you can help him out with his lines!" Ms. Quinn offered.
I just didn't say anything, but gave her a thumbs up. Mr. Quinn spoke up, "So, since we're sort of rushing things, I suggest we do some acting exercises to make things easier for our actors. While tech can work and figure things out for themselves, instead of stressing out within one week."
