I park in the driveway looking at the house that is currently pitch black with no lights on, I look at my watch knowing it's not too late as normally Helen stays up for me.
I enter the house turning on the lights as I go. "Helen?" I shout.
With no reply, I get my phone out to call her when I hear her phone ring in the house. I frown wondering why she's left it downstairs, taking two steps up at a time I go to our room switching the light on but discover the bed empty. I go to the bathroom and the baby's room is both empty and a sickening feeling sits in my gut.
I call Layla. "I'm still not sure if I've forgiven you yet" She answers.
"Is Helen with you?" I ask worriedly ignoring her snit.
"No, we dropped her off at the house earlier—why?" Layla asks concernedly.
"She's not here" I reply. "Did anything seem out of place when you dropped her off?" I ask.
"I didn't notice anything, no" Layla replies worriedly. "What's goin on?"
"I'll call you back," I say before hanging up.
I get my security camera app up on my phone and see that I've missed notifications. My notifications alarm has been disabled so it's just on vibrate. Fuck.
I go through all that I've missed throughout the day and come up to someone walking past the house looking at it, I try to see if I recognise the person, she looks familiar but I can't place her. I zoom in on her face and I see that it's Vinnie's ex—Suzanne.
"No" I roar angrily.
Getting my contacts up I call Helen's dad, Colin. He answers on the second ring. "Helen's gone" I reply.
"What the fuck have you done to upset her now?" He hisses.
"You're not getting what I'm saying, Helen is gone, she's been taken by that fucking crank, Suzanne" I hiss.
I hear Colin curse before he comes back on the phone. "Give me a minute," he says before hanging up.
What the fuck?
After what feels like an eternity, Colin rings me up again. "I've found her" he growls. "I'm sending you the address now, I'll meet you there," he says coldly before hanging up.
I don't even wanna know how he knows where she is but I'm fucking thankful for whatever he's done to find her. My phone dings with a text from Colin and the address of where Helen and my baby are. I forward the message to Saint and tell him to get his arse there, I recognise the address Helen's been taken to as it's one of the properties Vinnie owned down at the docks.
Using my police beacon, I speed as fast as I can safely not to cause any accidents, I turn the sound off once I get about a mile from the destination but keep the lights and speed the same, if not faster.
Once there, Colin is already there, I wonder how he's got there so fast but he's most likely been at the club. I get out of the car and approach the man who is going to be my father-in-law at some point, he's got a crazed look on his face holding a hold-all in his hand and I know I'm not dealing with Helen's dad right now but the man he was always known to be on the streets.
"Let's go," he says coldly.
Not waiting for Saint, I follow Colin into the building and take the lift up to the top floor where Helen is being held.
I knock on the door stepping out of sight of the peephole. Nobody answers, it's eerily quiet, I knock again. "Dominos" I shout earning a glare from Colin I shrug as if to say I had to say something.
