Two Months Later
Alderhey hospital is absolutely huge, I've never been inside it myself—well, as a kid I have but that was in the old building and it's since been rebuilt. "Where do we need to go, beauty?" I ask Helen as we drive into the multi-storey car park.
She gets the letter out scanning it. "It says we need to go to the second floor—outpatient's audiology"
"So do I need to go to the second floor in the car park or?"
"I don't know, I know the main entrance is on this floor. Maybe we should just stay on this floor and ask for help when we get in there?" she shrugs.
Finding a space I reverse in rather than drive forward, opening the boot I get esme's pram out and set it up ready for the car seat to be attached. My girl is quiet, but her beautiful eyes are open watching taking everything in around her. She is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen apart from her mum of course. I open the car door and reach over to unbuckle the car seat looking down my daughter is staring at me. "Hey there, Princess" I coo. "Come on, let's go for a ride"
Helen gets out the car no doubt making sure she has everything with her. "Baby, we've got everything. Don't stress, everything will be fine"
She sighs heavily. "I know"
I attach the car seat to the pram and Helen attaches esme's baby bag to the handle bars. "Do you wanna push her?" She asks me.
"Nah, it's okay beauty" I tell her knowing she needs this. "Where's the letter?"
"Oh, here" she says digging in the baby bag and hands it to me as we walk through the main entrance. Handy enough there is two people standing at the opening behind a table with a welcome sign at the top. I've no doubt these are information guides to the hospital, watching us approach they smile. "Hi, Welcome to Alderhey hospital can I help you?" I look at her name tag Angela
I gave her my best smile. "Hi, Angela. We're hoping for some help. Me and my fiancée here have an appointment with audiology can you tell us where we need to go, please?" I ask handing her our letter.
She stares at me rather than taking the letter from me. I look at Helen who is looking certifiably pissed, so I look to her colleague who is a male so I just hand the letter to him. "Do you know where we need to go, mate?" I ask him I notice Angela is still fucking staring at me.
"Yeah, you just need to take this lift here" pointing to an elevator across the floor. "Go to the second floor and followed the signs for outpatients" he smiles handing me the letter back.
Angela chooses that moment to come back to life after her fucking stare fest. She looks at Helen and I follow her gaze, to be honest I wish I fucking didn't because I'd be a dead man ten times over, the only relief I get is that her eyes are solely on Angela. "Beauty" I murmur.
Her eyes come to me and soften slightly. "Come on, baby"
I push the pram myself because Helen is just standing there looking at Angela. "He's gorgeous isn't he?" She says casually.
Angela blushes profusely. "Um"
"See this ring here?" Helen asks her. "See that baby there" she adds pointing to our daughter. "They're both mine" she hisses. "I don't know how anyone can be so disrespectful to stare at another woman's man right in front of her, you're lucky you are were you are and I've my daughter with me because honey, me and you would be having words—of the physical kind"
Angela splutters. "You can't talk to me like this"
Helen simply laughs her arse. "Get to fuck" she murmurs in Angela's face. "See ya's" she sings walking away from them both. "Come on before we're late"
"I'm gonna report her" I hear Angela hiss to her colleague. "Did you see that?"
"I saw nothing and if you know what's good for you, you'd drop it" her colleague tells her.
I chuckle hearing her outraged gasp as we make our way to the lift, I can still feel the anger radiating from Helen I don't blame her it was fucking down right disrespectful like. Getting in the lift I press number two. "You okay, baby?" I ask her.
"I'll be sound in a minute" she snips.
"O—kay" I mutter the silence is fucking awkward as fuck once we reach the second floor the doors slide open and we exit the lift.
I look up at the signs and see outpatients are to the left. "Come on, baby" I murmur guiding her with me once we reach our destination there is quite a number of parents with their kids, their screams echo the room but of course Esme doesn't even flinch.
Once it's our turn to be seen helen steps forward handing our letter to the receptionist. "Esme Rathe to see audiology" Helen tells the lady.
"Please fill this out and they'll call you through once they're ready" the lady smiles handing Helen a form on a clip board and a pen.
"Do I hand this back to you or give it to the audiologist?" Helen asks curiously.
"Oh, i'm sorry" the lady blushes. "Once you're done just hand it back to me, please"
"No problem" Helen smiles politely.
I find us two spare seats and guide us over, I manoeuvre Esme so her pram is not blocking anyone looking up there is a screen and I see Esme's name pop up with audiology next to her. There is three names above hers so we could be here for a while. "Could be here for a while, beauty" I whisper in Helen's ear. "Esme is third in the queue"
She smiles knowing I'm trying to make small talk and kisses me on the lips telling me she's over her snit. "Oh, do you wanna shoot down and get us a costa?" She asks with a hopeful gaze.
I stifle my chuckle as I know my girl is dying to get her daily caffeine fix, nearly nine months of no coffee and two months of breastfeeding has done it's job. "Yeah, beauty. I'll get you a costa. Anything else you want?"
"Oh, one of the caramel shortbread thingies" she says with a look that I've only ever seen when I'm balls deep inside her.
The fuck?!
"Why do you look like you're horny for something?" I purr in her ear.
She moans quietly in my ear. "I am" she whispers seductively like a fucking siren. "For a costa coffee and one of those caramel shortbread thingies" she states almost robotically and straight-faced.
I look at my fiancées face and she's trying her best not to laugh her arse off but instead of her giggling, the girl behind us does. Which in turn makes Helen giggle her fine arse off. "You'll pay for that later" I growl playfully.
"Yeah, yeah" she giggles. "Promises promises"
"Do you want me to take one of the baby's bottles to get one of the workers to warm it up for her?" I ask her and immediately feel like kicking my own arse when I see her smile die.
Helen has struggled since our Esme self weaned from Helen's breast. Of course she knows it's nothing she's done herself but felt like it was, it's only been a few days but still. "Yes, please" she whispers sadly.
I reach inside esme's baby bag retrieving one of her bottles with one hand whilst tipping Helen's face upwards towards me with the other. "I love you" I tell her.
She smiles at me but the sadness still lurks in her eyes. "I love you too"
Kissing her lips I turn taking esme's bottle with me. "Get a couple of those caramel thingies, babe" Helen tells me. "We'll have them for dessert tonight" she whispers.
My eyes darken and my cock twitches, clearing my throat. "Will do" I squeak. Fucking squeak.
"Lucky bastard" I hear someone mutter as I walk past them making me grin from ear to ear whilst I'm whistling away.
Yes.
Yes, I am...
