Elijah's POV

I watched as the quartet grouped together, my eyes surveyed them but stopped at the dark brown-haired and matching-eyed teen, I was drawn to him for some reason and his presence made me calmer than I had been in years. I tried to focus on the matter at hand that this group seemed to know me and about me but I didn't know who they were, the only female in the group stepped forward.

"I'm sure you have many questions Elijah but what we tell you depends on how you will protect your family." She spoke and if possible my posture straightened more than it was. "Your brother Niklaus is in need of your help."

"How do you know Niklaus? Are you working for him?" I questioned as it was the only possible reason for her to know of me.

"I work for no one but I work to protect and keep my family happy and safe." She looked at the three males behind her. "I'm sure you understand."

"I do, how does Niklaus need my help?" I was confused, Niklaus has always done things by himself without consulting others. "My brother has always done things his way so what makes you think he needs assistance?".

"Your brother isn't the monster you and others think him to be." She explained as I stared at her unconvinced. "He is still stuck in the past as the child your father abused with no one to fight or protect him." I frowned. "His behavior throughout the years is him asking for help the only way he knows how."

"By lashing out and killing, the only parent he loved and thought loved him did something cruel to him." The other vampire in the room spoke. "Your mother sealed a part of him and he has been unbalanced ever since, he is half of a whole."

"You as his older brother were to protect him but you feared your father's punishment would transfer to you so you remained silent and that cost him his childhood." The other male informed.

"Niklaus looked up to you as his elder brother, he watched you practice and would cheer for your victory whenever you fought with your father or other warriors of the village." The brunette voiced. "Your father would compare him to you and said he was a disappointment to his family but he never resented you, he does what he does because he wants you to notice him, he's trying to reach out to you." Shock ran through my body as what they said registered.

"How do you know of this? Who are you?" I inquired.

"We are the people with the power and skills to give you what you desire but only if you help your brother." The girl spoke.

"And what is it that I desire?" I scoffed.

"Your family." They synced and I stared at them.

"Why would you help Niklaus?".

"Because we know what it feels like to be ignored." The female said.

"To be overlooked." The brunette added.

"To be abandoned." The vampire spoke.

"To not have anyone see you for who you are." The other male stated.

"We are all we have and we protect each other." The girl finished.

"What do you want me to do?" I asked as I thought of my brother.

"We want you to do the first job you were given the moment he was born." My eyes met hers. "Be his big brother."

Later that day they explained to me what their plan was and I was confused, shocked, and a bit impressed that a group of teens and a vampire could create such a plan. Through observing them I saw that it was the female that directed them and they followed no questions asked when I inquired they told me that Bianca knew what happened in the past and what will happen in the future.

"Bianca was my best friend, all my life, she was there when my parents forgot me and did more before and after their death." The brunette boy spoke.

"So you know how we came to be the original vampires?" I asked from my seat around their dining room table, in my hand was a cup of blood.

"We all do," Tyler said.

"Your mother was a bitch." Lorenzo added and I glared at him. "Oh I meant what I said but you're among the worst parent club." He nodded to the three teens. "We have Tyler in the first place and Jeremy and Bianca tied for the second."

"Onto more serious matters, your brother will be arriving soon." Bianca said. "He will come raging if he is to find out from someone else that a human doppelgänger is here and his elder brother didn't inform him."

"You want me to contact my brother?" They nodded. "You do know either way he is going to come raging?"

"Then we leave it to Bianca." My eyes turned to the weak looking female in the room. "She has a way with words." The males smirked and I looked forward to see how she will get Niklaus to agree.

"Since you agree to help, there are things you must know." Tyler said. "We do not take betrayal lightly and when threatened or if anyone of us is put in danger, we attack full force as seen today."

"You have my word no betrayal will be on my part." I told them. They all smiled in unison which frightened me a bit.
