The Lies In Our Love (book 1)

Seventeenth lie

"Is this good?"

"Sure."

I frown. "Sure? What so you mean, sure?"

He laughs. "You're stunning, aliyah."

I was dressed in a devil costume. It didn't show to much, but it wasn't a child's outfit neither. We were in the closest costume shop that didn't have atll the costumes sold out.

"What are you going to be?"

He looked confused. "Now that I think about it, I don't know."

"You don't know?! You sent me to get get a costume but you don't have one?!"

I rush to the boys section and pick out a  few random costumes.

"Here, try this on. Hurry!" I say.

He enters the change room. So my 18th birthday is in a few days, huh? Wonder what'll happen this time....

Austin comes out in a vampire costume. Not a twilight vampire, a classic Dracula vampire.

"Um, no. Too cliche." I say.

He looked even more confused but returned. He came out again, in a Frankenstein costume. It was hideous.

"Not really feeling it."

He sighed and turned. He came in a costume that was perfect.

"An angel! Awesome! Angel Austin! " I laughed at my pun. Austin frowned but soon joined in with me. We went to the cashier and payed for our costumes.

The cashier was an elderly lady.

"What an adorable set of costumes! Perfect for a couple like you two! So cute!" She laughed.

I blushed harder than Austin. Dating?
" Uh ma'am were not dating." Austin says.

Her eyes darken. "Oh well. Can't please a lady in her last days with with a little love."

I was terrified. She looked Hella scary with eyes narrowed and her voice lowering a thousand times.

"We're sorry..." I whisper.

Her eyes lighten up. "No matter! Have at happy Halloween!"

We wave goodbye as we leave.

"Dating.." I think out loud.

Austin doesn't say anything. We enter the car, but Austin doesn't turn in the engine.

"We could uh, date." He whispers.

He looks at me, expecting an answer.

"Uh, um..." What to say? What to do?

He holds my hands. I blush once again.

"Aliyah, will you be my girlfriend?"

Well, you've known him for two months, you already kissed him,  met his family.... I look at him. His dark brown eyes and his black hair, his skin is naturally a little but tanned.

"Austin, it'll be my pleasure to call you my boyfriend."

His smiles widely. He kisses me quickly and blushes. I laugh to show that I was happy.  He started laughing at some point too. Then he turned on the car and we left.

"So you guys are dating?!" Tal and Dylan yell.

I decided to visit my remaining friends. Tal had been put in the hospital under shock and she had professional therapy.

"Yes."

They yelled and got up to hug me.

"So, what's the baby's name?"

"When's the marriage?"

"Who's the father?"

They overload me with questions.

"You guys are so immature! We're just dating!"

"Yeah, just dating."Dylan winked.

"So you guys dressing up for Halloween?" I ask.

"Hell yeah!" Tal yells and high fives Dylan. 

"Tal will go as a witch and I'll go as a.... " Dylan lingers.

"As a what?" I say after a silence.

"A cow!"
