"Ugh..." I try to open my eyes.

"You okay?" I hear a female voice.

"Yeah.."

The female slaps me. I sit up and yell.

"Ouch!"

"What the hell Alissa?!" Austin yells.

"What? I learned that that is the best way to wake up unconscious people." She answers innocently.

"Where'd you learn that?!"

"Soap operas."

"What's that?"

"You have to be a girl to understand."

I wave my hand. "I'm okay! I'm okay."

Alissa takes out a flashlight and aims it at my eye. "Hum seems fine..."

She leaves suddenly and enters her room. She slams it behind her.

"Is she ok?" I ask. Had I done something?

" No, she's entering her "researches" in a notebook. Alissa's first choice of career was a doctor."

Oh.

"Ya got any beer?" Eric asks. Was he here all this time?

"No. Alissa stopped drinking a few years back." Austin answers.

"What happened?" I ask. My memory for the past few hours back is very foggy.

"Well, I brought you to a BMX bike park, and on the biggest ramp, you zoned out, crashed and I had to carry you here."

"Didn't you have the car?"

"Oh." He blushes. He's adorable when he blushes.

Some men hit the door down and rush in.

"Oh shit!" Eric yells.

Austin is handcuffed by three policemen and lead out.

"Austin!" I yell. Tears stream down my face. Why? What happened now?

A female police officer approaches. "Don't worry, you're safe now."
