In Trey's bedroom of the Heartslabyul Dorm, Trey is sitting in bed as his left leg is sitting on a pillow as his ankle is wrapped by a bandage and a cast with a bag of ice on it to ease the pain. Cater is there as well as they treat Trey for his injury. Soon, they hear a knock on the door.

Riddle turns to the door and says, "Come in."

The door opens, Ace, Deuce, Briar, Grim, Jasper, Tanzanite, Sereia, and Trinket enter the room. Grim seems to be holding a can of tuna.

Ace calls out, "Yo, man, how's it going?"

"How are you feeling, Trey?" Deuce asks.

Grim walks up to the bed and says, "We came all this way just to see your sorry face. It's cool—don't get up."

"How are you feeling?" Briar asks.

"Are you okay?" Sereia asks.

"Well, if it isn't Hunting Season! Briar and the Ramshackle Dorm group too! You're rolling deep today," Cater says.

Confused, Ace asks, "Hey, Cater... I'm lost. Whaddaya mean by 'Hunting Season'?

"I mean it's you guys! You're Ace, he's Deuce—that's what you call an Ace Deuce in poker!" Cater says.

"Don't give us a couple nickname!" Deuce says, unimpressed and crosses his arms.

"Riiight..." Ace says, skeptic.

He turns to Trey and asks, "Anyway, how d'you feel, Trey? And how'd you get hurt?"

"Slipped on the stairs. I couldn't catch myself, and my ankle got all messed up. I'll be on crutches for a while," Trey answers.

"Yikes. That sounds pretty bad!" Deuce says, shocked.

"Yep. Looks like I'll be warming the bench at the Spelldrive tournament this year," Trey says.

"That must have hurt," Tanzanite says.

Myah... I was hopin' your injury would be small enough for me to justify keepin' this, but..." Grim says, and places the can of tuna on the bed, "Here. I brought ya a get-well can of tuna. Feel better, specs."

"Heh. Thanks," Trey replies.

Cater brings out his phone and says, "Ugh, hashtag #fail! Now that we've lost a power player, we have to redo our team roster!"

"Wait, what?!" Deuce and Ace say, surprised and yet, excited.

Then they hear another knock on the door.

"I'll get it," Briar says.

Briar walks over to the door and opens it to see Riddle Roseheart.

"Oh hello Riddle," Briar says.

"Hello Briar, I didn't expect to see you here," Riddle says.

Then notices Grim and the others, including Ace and Deuce.

He calmly asks, ""Why are there so many people in here? Trey is supposed to be resting!"

Grim panics, "Myah! It's Ragin' Riddle!"

And quickly hide behind Briar.

A bit offended, but remaining calm, Riddle says, "I am not 'raging.' I will be perfectly pleasant if you obey the rules!"

He then walks to Trey and asks, "How are you doing, Trey? Can I bring you anything to eat or drink?"

"I told you, Riddle: you don't need to fuss over me like this," Trey says with a calm smile.

"But it's my fault that you got hurt," Riddle says.

This come out as a surprise to everyone,

"What? He didn't tell us that part!" Ace replies, confused.

"Can you tell us what happened?" Briar asks.

Riddle is a little confused, but then answers, "Of course."

Then explains, "I needed to talk to him, so I went to the junior classroom at lunch. And then..."

Flashback:

Earlier, Riddle and Trey are both walking down the stairs as they have a conversation.

"I'm going to be late today, so go ahead and start practice without me," Riddle says.

"Sure, will do," Trey says.

"All right, I'll see you—" Riddle says.

Suddenly, Riddle ends up tripping on his feet, "Wh-whoooa!"

And begins to fall down the stairs.

Trey cries out, "Riddle, look out!"

Trey reaches out to Riddle to catch Riddle, but in doing so, they both fall down the stairs.

Flashback Ends:

"Trey never would have slipped if he hadn't caught me when I was about to tumble over," Riddle says.

"Yeah, but if I hadn't, you would have just broken your fall with a flight spell," Trey replies, "It was stupid of me to intervene. So you don't owe me anything."

"Still, I..." Riddle says, feeling guilty of what happened.

As Trey and Riddle talk, Briar, Grim and the others, including Ace grow suspicious of Riddle's story.

Ace whispers, "Hey, Briar, d'you think...?"

"Yeah. I was thinking the same. The way Riddle explains it is similar to the stories of the other accidents. So it's possible that what happened to Riddle and Trey wasn't an accident either," Briar whispers.

Suddenly, Cater says to Riddle, "Riddle, come on! It's not gonna do anyone any good to have you harshing the vibe here. It's lame that Trey got hurt, but you'll rock the field that much harder to make up for him, right?"

"Well, I suppose that's true," Riddle replies.

Then Cater says, "All right, peeps, we should let Trey get his rest. Out, out, out!"

And with that, everyone ends up getting out of Trey's room and Cater closes the door. Soon, everyone is in the Heartslabyul Dorm Lounge with Cater and Riddle

Once they arrive, Riddle turns to Cater, "All right, Cater. Was there something you didn't want to tell me in front of Trey?

"You're always a step ahead of me, Riddle," Cater says with a smile.

Then turns to Briar, "I get the feeling Briar & co. know something about it. Want to fill us in?"

This catches Briar and the others by surprise.

And so, Briar decides to explain the situation to them, "Right, so..."
