Prime did they hope this was going to work.
Ranboo and Tubbo stood side by side, Ranboo anxiously fixing up his button-up as Tubbo thought deeply.
See, the weight of not having any ideas of what to do had finally dropped off their shoulders. After planning for so long, they had scrambled for any last resort.
And that last resort was just on the other side of the door waiting for them.
"You sure about this?" Ranboo asked, glancing over at Tubbo who let three seconds pass by before he nodded firmly.
"I'm sure," He said, turning to Ranboo and placing his hand on his shoulder as his face softened. "Plus, it's the only thing we have."
Ranboo pressed his lips into a thin line. A silent agreement between the two before Tubbo pulled back and stretched his back. "We know for a fact he doesn't support the Eggpire and was even at that whole Red Banquet thing to stop it."
Ranboo tilted his head, thinking this whole thing through one last time before sighing. "I guess you're right."
"And something is better than nothing, isn't it?"
"It is," Ranboo muttered and with that, the two opened the door and stepped into the other room.
His eyes landed on their only idea, the one person they hoped was willing to help.
And they were standing there cleaning their nails.
Tubbo smiled but it looked sad. Something about having to pull in extra support because both share the fact that they had lost something or someone due to the Eggpire was just not good- it should have never been like this.
But this was reality and things had come to this so a purple hood was pulled down to reveal dirty blonde hair as Tubbo stepped forward.
Purpled stood there, pressing his lips into a thin line before Ranboo barely heard the short and almost reassuring breath he took before he stood up straight.
"Tubbo, Ranboo," He greeted each of them with their own node and the air was too cold for any handshakes and the room was full of too many heavy and silent frowns for anyone to ask how anybody had been lately. They all knew the answer, it'd go something like "really, really, really not good."
If Ranboo didn't know better, he would have thought this was a funeral.
But even though everyone in the room had something to mourn about, they all knew better and this was not a funeral.
It was a meet-up requested by two grievers begging for some sort of last hope, any shred of help they could get they would take. And so, Purpled crossed his arms and looked at them expectantly.
"So, you wanted me here because you heard something about the Eggpire?"
Tubbo nodded warily, like he must choose his words carefully or this last resort of his would go bursting back out the doors in which he arrived. Which, honestly, wasn't that far off. These days it was hard to reach out towards Purpled in person, only a simple dm on the communicator was accessible but he wouldn't respond, not unless something you said interested him a lot.
To be fair, Tubbo and Ranboo had been rolling like that recently. To lay low, in a way.
Ranboo joined Tubbo's side in two swift steps, confirming Purpled's question. "Well, we know the main goal they're reaching for is to hatch the egg."
Purpled paused and the two could almost hear the gears turning in his head before he muttered something that could only be translated into complete dread of something before he quickly blinked and switched his attention back to them. "Okay."
