Chapter 6: Shaun & Co Step Up

It had been a few months since Shaun and his brothers and sister had returned from visiting their mother and Shaun had been keeping in contact more regularly with Brianna such as texting and calling each other.
They had become increasingly fond of each other's company as time passed and they had started working out together more often because they both realised that they are encouraging to each other when they workout together.
Some of Brianna's friends had also started to notice that she had a twinkle in her eyes whenever she or any of her friends mention Shaun to her and she blushes when they tease her about him whenever Sydney and Carla aren't there.

Shaun had arrived at the auto shop and he greeted Hector and his brother and friends and got to work by helping Jack by adding some new tyres to a 2012 Dodge Charger and when they finished it, the owner had come back to the auto shop to collect it.

Then at one point, Shaun was working on his Toyota Supra project and Jack had asked him if he needs any help and started a conversation with him about how he was planning to tell Carla that he likes her.

Jack: hey Shaun.

Shaun: yeah ?

Jack: When's the next time that Sydney and the girls will have some time off ?

Shaun: Brianna said that they will be off for a few days next week, why ?

Jack: well I'm finally going to tell Carla how much i like her.

Shaun: oh really ?

Jack: yeah, I'll tell her that I like her and if all goes well, I'll ask her if she wants to go on a date with me.

Shaun stopped what he was doing and he looked at his brother, smiled at him and patted him on his shoulder.

Shaun: good on you Jack.

Jack: the thing is though, will she even like me back ?

Shaun pretended to not know the Carla likes him back and so he made something up.

Shaun: why wouldn't she ?

Jack: I don't know, it's just that I've never been that nervous but I really want to know if she likes me back.

Shaun: well there's only one way to find out the answer to that question.

Jack: yeah, I know.

Shaun: just do what feels like the right way to you, maybe call her on one of the days that she's off to talk to her about it when you see her.

Jack: yeah, I just don't want to wait for too long before I tell her how I really feel about her.

Shaun smiled at his brother and then patted him on the back and Shaun looked behind him to see that someone had brought in their car to have a new suspension system put in and then he asked Jack to help him with it.

Shaun: okay but in the meantime, you want to come and help me put in a suspension system in this car ?

Jack: yeah sure.

Shaun went with his brother over to the car owner and shook their hand and then got to work on installing the new suspension system.

A little bit later in the day, and everyone was on their break and having lunch and while they were talking, Shaun asked Tyler how things were going with Kylie.

Shaun: so Ty, how are things going with Kylie ?

Tyler: it's great dude, we had a date last week and it was awesome, we talked a lot and learned a lot about each other.
I'm looking forward to the next date which is in a couple of weeks.

Matt: glad things are happening for you man.

Tyler: thanks dude.

Jess: glad things going pretty well Ty, we're happy for you.
