Chapter 2: The Winter Soldier

Alyson had been at Avengers tower for just over a month, but she still hadn't gotten used to it, she'd still get lost walking through the winding corridors.

Her training was going well, she hadn't exactly mastered her powers but they didn't weaken her as much anymore when she used them. With Bruce and Tony's help she'd found ways to charge her energy instead of taking from it, making her body stronger and able to absorb more power. Nat had also had her on a strict training schedule which seemed to be doing the job, Alyson had become fitter and more agile, she was on the path to becoming a pretty strong fighter. She'd even managed to take down Clint in a 1v1, a very proud moment for Natasha, even if Clint was holding back a little on the girl. 

As she stalked through the corridor, Alyson spotted Tony Stark up ahead of her and ran to catch up to him, "hey kid" he said not taking his eyes off what he was reading.

"Have you seen Nat? I haven't seen her since yesterday and I haven't trained today" Aly said, Nat had been off on a lot of missions lately, same with Steve.

"Nope, why don't you get Barton to train you?" Tony sighed, but Aly shook her head "he's gone home for the weekend, but maybe you could train me?" she suggested with a sly smile and Tony looked up at her unamused.

"C'mon you said you would keep helping me figure out this electric crap, plus I could power up your suit" she smiled cunningly, Tony sighed "we should page Thor, he'd be the best one to train you. Shame he doesn't answer our emails" he trailed off as Alyson sighed loudly.

"Fine" he rolled his eyes dragging Aly to his lab.

Tony sat back in his chair as he rubbed his forehead "are you even trying?" he groaned, Aly had been trying to use her energy to power one of his robots but all she'd managed to do was shut it down further.

"You're taking energy away from it, you need to do the opposite, focus on letting the energy flow into it, you're murdering him.... and me slowly" Tony sighed, he jumped up and grabbed the robot moving it to the side.

Then he propped it up and moved it around like a puppet motioning for her to attack it "he's coming at you Aly, robots are taking over the earth. What do you do?" Tony teased.

Aly grunted and raised her arm, she closed her eyes and thrust her palm up as little sparks of electricity started to shoot from it.

"Eyes open Sparky! you've got to look at what you're attacking so it doesn't get the upper hand" he instructed.

She opened her eyes as they shone with a deep blue glow, then raised her other arm as more energy shot from her palms knocking the robot to the floor.

Then she smiled smugly up at Tony who clapped his hands a little bit "not bad, but you do now owe me 5000 dollars in damages... so" he grinned picking up the remains of the now charcoaled robot carcass.

After training with Tony, Alyson decided to look for Nat.

She skipped into her room, looking for any clue as to where the redhead might be, but it was empty.
