Chapter 20: Electra: Short Circuit -3

"You're lying, I saw the lab.. the cell... it was caved in..." Alyson screeched in his face as he struggled beneath her, "there... there was no body.. the... experiment worked" he coughed back.

Alyson dropped him and stumbled backward as her breath caught in her throat, she bent over resting her arm's on her knees as she struggled to get her breath out.

Joshua looked between the pair with a confused expression then walked over to Alyson, putting his arms gently around her shoulder, "he's lying... he'll say anything to survive.. trust me" he whispered but she just closed her eyes as fresh tears fell from them.

Josh turned back towards Hayward and shrugged, he grabbed the man by the neck and pushed him up against the wall with an emotionless expression.

"Alyson... I mean.. it..... he's alive....." Hayward croaked but Josh just shook his head, "why would you only tell her now, there's been plenty of opportunity tonight, you're just trying to save your own ass" he smirked tightening his grip.

"I... tried... at first.. sent someone after you but you pushed away.... then after Westview... I knew..... if I told you... if you brought him back... he'd probably kill me.... and together.. the pair of you.. were a force to be reckoned with... I was afraid!" Hayward stuttered desperately.

Josh's eyes turned into an icy glare as he lifted the man up higher, Hayward clawed at his hand but he couldn't escape the boys freezing hold.

Just as Josh was about to break the man's neck a spark of electricity crackled through his spine forcing him to drop Hayward.

Josh winced and staggered to his knees as Alyson pushed past him and pulled Hayward up.

"He's lying Alyson!" Josh spat rubbing at the pain in his back but she ignored him, instead grabbing Hayward's arm and dragging him down the corridor towards the lab by his wrist as he finally started to get his breath back.

"Where is he? is he here?" Aly asked but Hayward let out a nervous breath, "no but we think we know how to reach him, his powers, his speed. We thought it would give him the ability to travel through time and space.... we were right....and with the right push, an electrical charge in chemical form we were able to help propel him forward.... we don't know for certain.... but there was no body, there's no other explanation... he's out there and I think you could find him."

Josh strolled out of the cell rubbing his back and followed after them, "seriously you're believing this bullshit?" he said in a judgemental tone but Aly just shot him a glare.

They got to the lab and Aly brought down the barrier, she threw Hayward over to the other agents and crossed her arms.

"Get me to him now!"

Hayward gave Dr. Lummings a knowing look and the man jumped up and headed to the only uncharcoaled computer.

Joshua slumped down into a chair with an angry expression locked on Hayward whilst Aly started to pace the room and demand answers.

"The quantum realm? yes I've of it" she breathed out holding her head, "you think he's there?! that he's been there all this time.. alone?!" she screeched, "it's a possibility, if his powers were strong enough, with the amount of impact seen in the lab we think he traveled through time that fast that he wouldn't have been able to control it and probably ended up outside of time trapped in the Quantum Realm... without the energy source to bring himself back."

"A possibility? where else could he be if he isn't there?" she exhaled stopping in her step to hold her stomach stressfully, Dr. Lummings gulped and breathed out slowly "he could be anywhere throughout time and space...."
