Alyson stormed into the factory and stopped in front of Hayward who was slumped into a chair trying to sleep, he opened his eyes with a disgruntled huff and blinked as she dangled a set of keys in front of his face with a blank expression, "I took care of it, there's five agents in a van round the back, I tied them up in there. There's a sixth one outside with Josh."

Hayward yawned nonchalantly then shook his head "still five, the sixth one succumbed to his wounds."

Alyson's eyes widened as she looked at Hayward with disgust, "hey don't look at me it was Josh that came back without the guy, left him in the woods."

Alyson dropped the keys onto his crotch deliberately and Hayward winced out in pain, scowling at the girl as she ran off towards the back room where she'd seen Josh asleep on her way in.

She stormed over to him and kicked at the chair he was laying on, but he didn't move, he was fast asleep.

Alyson grunted and slumped into a seat next to him exhausted, she hadn't slept in multiple days and it was starting to catch up to her.

She shuffled around a couple of the chairs, pushing them together to make a makeshift bed.

The sound must have finally stirred Josh awake as he started to mumble a disgruntled, "you're back" from beside her, keeping his eyes closed. She leaned her head back against the wall and hummed in response, her tone hinting that she wasn't happy with him.

"You're mad at me?" he asked with a sigh, and she nodded her head without speaking, Josh sat up and moved closer to her leaning his own head back against the wall beside her, "I tried, I brought him back but he didn't make it. I'm sorry."

Alyson opened her eyes and gave him a suspicious look, "Hayward said you left him in the woods?" Josh tilted his head with a shrug and looked up at her with careful eyes, "I did, I never got him back in time he died on the way."

Alyson turned towards him and studied his face, "what did you do that got you into prison? I need you to be honest with me.." she sighed.

Josh nodded and turned away from her looking down at his hands nervously, "I... killed my mother... then some of the townspeople... I didn't mean to, I just wanted to find her again... remember how I told you she'd given me up after she found out about my abilities... well when I turned 19 I went back for her, searched my hometown till I found her... and when I did I was overjoyed, thought we could pick up right where we left off now that I was older and able to control my powers... but she still hated me, she took a knife and tried to kill me... but i... I held my arms up to protect myself and... accidentally killed her.... people started to run towards us hearing the screams... they.. they called me a monster... they took weapons... tried to take me out but I" tears started to overshadow his eyes as he reminisced the memory, "I killed them before they could... I didn't mean to... I just... I thought I could control it...but I couldn't... Alyson me and you... we are creatures of habit, we can try to control it, and act like the rest of them but eventually, it takes over... the only way to control ourselves is to let that power out... it can't control us if we control it."

He wiped at his eyes and turned away from her sadly but she grabbed his hand, brushing her thumb over it and leaning her head on his shoulder, they sat there in silence drifting off to sleep whilst moonlight crept in from the broken window across from them lighting the darkness.
