Ryoma came up to us a few minutes later with the captain following shortly behind.
"Oi, Ryoma," I called. "I'm going over to your place after we're dismissed from here. Ryoga says we can play tennis in your yard. I don't have to if you don't want me to."
"No. It's fine. But Eiji-senpai insisted on coming over as well," Ryoma said with a quick shake of his head.
"Great. We can have a doubles match," I grinned, flipping my racket into the air and catching it.
"Rikkadai's over," Tezuka-senpai said as he approached us all with Coach Ryuzaki. "We won. You can all go home now. And rest up. Tomorrow we face Hyotei."
"Hai, captain!" Everyone shouted. Everyone celebrated and stuck around for a few more minutes before they all left. I turned and startd walking away with Ryoga.
"See you later, Eiji-senpai!" I called over my shoulder. I felt his gaze land on me and smirked. I glanced up at Ryoga and we walked back to his house.
"Wait, what does that mean?!" Eiji-senpai shouted after me.
"You'll have to wait and see!" I taunted before turning the corner and leaving his sight.
I followed Ryoga back to his house and we did a few light practices against each other. I used my right hand and he used his right hand as well. I hit a twist at him and he easily returned it.
Eiji-senpai and Ryoma arrived a few minutes later and we started the match.
Ryoga and I ended up winning through a series if twists, dunks, volleys, and hardshots. We won obviously. I high-fived Ryoga and then we seperated and I went back to my house.
I walked for about five minutes before I got to my house with my dad. I went up to my room and then fell asleep in my clothes. The next morning my left arm was lightly sore. I managed to shake it off after an hour of constantly moving it back and forth and warming up in my room. I left my house at nine. I made it to the tournament two hours early since we had to be signed in at eleven. Besides, it only took me a few minutes to run to Seigaku.
After Ryoga and Ryoma arrived at 10:50 and we had gotten signed in, I looked at the line up.
Doubles pair 2: Eiji and Momoshiro.
Doubles pair 1: Ryoga and I.
Singles 3: Kawamura.
Singles 2: Fuji.
Singles 1: Tezuka.
The singles one match would by far be the most interesting match of them all. Our captain Tezuka against Hyotei's captain Atobe.
Doubles one pair 2 won 6-4.
And then it was mine and Ryoga's turn on court. I redid my grip tape and then stepped onto court, swinning a few practice swings before I got settled up by the net with Ryoga behind me.
I heard the ball go flying next to my head and then smirked as I watched the twist blow back one of our opponents hair.
Ryoga served again. It was another ace. We took the first game easily.
Hyotei had the serve this time. I watched the ball to see where it was going, but before either of us could react, the ball was already across the court and they had won a point. 15-love.
I steadied myself and then narrowed my eyes as I focused on the ball, lunging forwards as soon as the ball hit the racket. I slammed my own racket into the ball, using two hands to return it to their side. The next one I missed but Ryoga managed to hit. I think they were calling it the Scut Serve. I don't know, something like that.
"Fast," I said in English. "Ryoga, you have it?"
"Yeah," Ryoga replied, also in English. I grinned back at him and let him hit the Scut Serve back twice as powerful.
We won the next game with ease. 2-love.
They came back and got two more games straight with us barely being able to do anything. I switched formations in sinque with Ryoga.
"Australian formation!" Horio shouted out when we finished. I smirked as I stepped lightly back and forth on both feet, copying Ryoma's one footed split step. I lunged after a ball and then moved further back onto the court as Ryoga moved forwards.
3-2.
We scored another game.
Hyotei lobbed a ball and I jumped up, smashing it to the ground, causing it to twist and nearly hit the brown haired one in the face.
After that point, we basically kept scoring our own games.
4-2.
5-2.
6-2.
"Game to Echizen-L/n!" the umpire called. I moved forwards to shake hands with my opponent.
"Good game," I said truthfully. "It was fun." I turned and walked away from thema nd back towards my Seigaku team after shaking hands.
Ryoma nodded once at me as did Tezuka and Kaido. The three strong but silent players on the team.
I nodded back at all of them and then walked away again. I found a vending machine and bought a grape Ponta drink. Ryoma had gotten me obsessed with these now. I popped the lid open and then drank it on a bench while fooling around with my tennis ball and racket. After I finished the drink, I returned to the courts.
It was time for Singles match 1. Captain Tezuka and Captain Atobe.

The matches aren't in order, but hopefully they still make sense.
