I paced the floor. I had to keep moving because if I didn't then I would go insane. Mary lay on the floor on a blanket. It had been three days and she had not once responded to me. I had shaken her, pinched her, pleaded and begged her but she never opened her eyes. My thoughts raced, telling me she was in a coma or she was dying. She probably was dying. She hadn't eaten or drunk anything in ages. However I had noticed a dramatic change in her physical looks. Her skin was more pale than ever before. When I touched her, she was as cold and hard-skinned as Robert had been. The bruises, scars and cuts all over her body faded into nothing. She seemed to put on weight at one point. She was more fuller. She was still a skinny, little thing but she now had some weight which gave her body more proportion. Her lips seemed fuller and redder. Her eyelashes were thicker and her eyebrows were shaped into perfection. Her hair had lost its greasy, limp look and was now more glossy and thicker. I even thought it looked like she had re tinted her hair because the color really shone out. It even looked like she had brushed it. She didn't look like she was starving of hunger or dying of thirst and dehydration. However I tried to stay with her but couldn't because I was starving. I managed to collect a small collection of food from neighboring houses.
We were staying in the basement of an abandoned house. I wasn't even positive where exactly in America we were as I had barely took notice of signs. I was wary all the time, cautious in case James tried to come and find us. I stayed constantly on watch all the time. I hadn't slept in ages, barely ate or drank. No Mary might not be dying but I was.

I was sat against the cold brick wall of the basement. My head was resting against a rotting empty shelf. I couldn't stop my eyes closing but I was only drifting in and out of consciousness. I was still... Keeping... Watch... I can feel something by my ear. A blurred shape... Mary...? Where is she...?
"It'll be over soon, my love." I hear a soft voice... Mary...?!
Her teeth sink into my throat.
