I opened my eyes to see a beautiful female peering over me. She was looking down at me, anxiously. She still had the same beauty that she had when I looked at her when she had been in my position. However it was now more defined.

"You're beautiful." I told her. It was only when her eyes met mine that I realized how red they were and started freaking out. I didn't FEEL right. My breathing wasn't right. My heart didn't beat anymore. I felt a sudden urge to cry but I couldn't make the tears come.

"What have you done to me...?" I asked, tearfully.

"I'm sorry Jasper... My visions told me that it was how it was meant to be." I swallowed unnecessarily.

"My throat hurts..." I whispered.

"I know. Come on. We'll hunt." She sprung to her feet in one action. It was agile, elegant and amazing at the same time. I got to my feet and realized I was standing already. The thought reached my mind and went straight to actions. It was so weird and interesting.

Mary held out her hand and I took it. We were exactly the same temperature. I had expected a cold, hard touch but she was soft and warm.

"Let's hunt, Mary." Mary turned to face me as she walked backwards. She had a slight smile on her face.

"Call me Alice." I couldn't help myself. I smiled too and we both went out into the darkness.
