Forks was as predicted. Rainy. However we all had our own rooms now. Alice was delighted to take one of the bigger rooms on the first floor of the half glass house. It was just as beautiful as the other house, maybe even more so. Alice was ecstatic about decorating her room. I let her do as she wanted. She and Rose went out the day after we arrived to go to Seattle or Olympia for some good decorating items. Esme decided to go to Seattle herself to find some new decorating items for her own room. Carlisle decided to go with her so I decided to come too. I had a task of my own and I couldn't let Alice be with me.

"You coming Jasper?" Esme asked as she locked the Mercedes. Carlisle was looking at me too, eyes narrowed. I couldn't blame him for not trusting me in public. Although I hadn't relapsed just yet, that only meant the need was stronger.

"No I need to go buy something. I'll meet you both back here?" Carlisle and Esme nodded and left. I went westwards. I found a row of stores. The store I was trying to find was quick and easy. I made my plan and with the results sealed in an envelope, I made my way to one of the big Seattle offices. I had to settle my own affairs into order now I was settled with a family. First thing on my list was to collect my own money as Jasper Whitlock.

It was much easier than I thought. I was put through to a man who worked with lawyers and soliciting. I put some of the money in my account aside, to give to Tessie. The money would go straight into her account.

It was also while I was there that I found out that my mother had finally passed away two weeks ago. She had left me a small fortune in her will. I collected the money and it was immediately transferred into my account.

Once all my business was done in Seattle, I waited by the car for Carlisle and Esme. Carlisle arrived before Esme did. He unlocked the car and he sat in the driver's seat while I sat in the back.

"So what was you up to?" Carlisle asked.

"I was just setting some affairs in order," I hesitated before telling my new father. "My biological mom died two weeks ago."

"I'm so sorry Jasper... It's a cruel part of this life that the ones we grew up with and loved dies as time passes and there is nothing we can do."

"I can't deny that it's a shock and it hurts but... It doesn't hurt as much as it should. Is something wrong with me?" Carlisle turned round to face me.

"No Jasper. Nothing is wrong with you. It is because you found new ties and you have become adjusted to the idea of a whole new life."

"I also have something to announce when we get home." Carlisle smiled.

"Me too."
